IKEA cribs?

Anyone have a crib from ikea? It looks like they get pretty good reviews and the prices are right. I don't want to break the bank on a crib. I have my DS' old crib that we'll use for one baby, so we just need the one.

We have them and we love them! We have the Sundvik crib that we use for DS and bought two more for the twins. The one we have for DS still looks brand new and has held up super well. It converts to a toddler bed, and they are super affordable, so we didn't feel bad about buying two more.

I bought two Gulliver cribs. They also convert to toddler beds. And I can say that ours held up wonderfully. They survived my two very active and climbing boys and we moved when then boys were 9 months . We didn't disassemble them, they survived the move too.

We were going to buy them but unless you have an ikea in your area you can't order them online

well at least 7 months ago you couldn't. We found same modern style on wayfair and they are wonderful quality and cheap!

I've been looking at ordering the Gulliver, and have all but checked out online with them to see what shipping would cost, and you can indeed ship them. I'm in Canada, the nearest Ikea is over 500 km away, and the shipping cost isn't bad at all.

Maybe that's because you are in Canada? I just checked and you can add to shopping list but can not purchase online. They are in stores only. However, there are two styles you can buy online I saw! We even tried to call several stores and no one would ship them.

Strange that they will ship the sundvik but not the gullivar.

They won't ship anything baby related. Toys, bedding, furniture. It's annoying because I wanted so much stuff! Only a few select items will but it's not all the time.

We have the sundvik cribs. Haven't used them yet because kiddos doesn't arrive for a few more months, but they were a great deal. We figured these, then toddler beds, then switch to bunk beds at some point to save space.

Idk where you live, but here they have a company that will actually go to Ikea and pick up what you want and bring it back for you. They charge a percentage of what it would cost to ship the item, but it is pretty neat. Maybe you could look into that?

We ordered a gulliver over online a few months ago- there were no issues shipping it - so far we really like it

Must be your area? I just went online and had no issue ordering a sundvik as well as other baby items to be shipped to my home in Texas.

Sucks that you are having the issue, ikea is the best!

We also got two gullivers (lucky enough to have ikea nearby so no experience with online ordering). They were relatively easy to put together (although definitely better to do with two people than one) as far as ikea stuff goes (DH and I almost needed marriage counseling after putting together a daybed once). Ours have not been child tested yet, but they look good and the price was right!

DS sleeps in a Gulliver, which we love, so we just bought a second one for the twins. I think it has held up so well, it looks brand new!

I dont think its just our area. I tried to have my mom order and she is 14 hours from and and my aunt who is in California but the Ikea near her was out of stock. She tried to order online as our baby gifts and she wasnt able to either. They have "flash deals" or whatever you want to call them where there is a brief amount of time to order specific prodcts then they close it down for a period of time. WHen I asked the guy on the phone why he didnt have an answer. Its stupid. So if you see something you want from them you order it right then and there because typically within a few days its taken off the online order list. Basically what he said was if you were able to order what you wanted you just happened to get on the site at the right time.

We ordered two of the cheapest ones. Snivlar? $60 something each. Haven't used them yet. The instructions included in the box were only for converting it to a toddler bed. Someone posted the real directions in the comments on a YouTube video. Otherwise it would have been really confusing. When I first tried to order for delivery they weren't in stock and no word on when they'd be available. At the end of the week I tried again and they were available for delivery. Just got to be lucky, I guess.
