Hello. My 6-month old is in daycare with 5:1 ratio, only 5 infants total. Usually a floater is in the room as well.
I logged onto the webcam today and saw my baby double boppied (sp?). Basically him laying back on one, and then the other placed on top the other direction holding up the bottle, and so his legs couldn't move. The floater was rolling around on the floor with another baby, so it's not like no one was available.
Our state regulations states that infants only have to be held when eating until 6 months, but after cannot lay flat. While he isn't laying flat, it's pretty close.
I asked the teacher and she said it was to help him with holding the bottle himself. I would maybe be okay if he was sitting up on his own eating, but this seems almost like he's trapped.
Thoughts? Would you press the issue further? Other than this, we have been very happy with care.
Thank you!

Absolutely not. The regulations are in place for a reason and that reason is the child's safety. What you described is a choking hazard. Thank goodness your center has a camera in place otherwise you may have never known about this. I would be considering another center if they think this is OK when your state clearly says it isn't.
