Success after IF

Femara Success?

Any success on Femara alone?  We had a few hiccups with our IUI cycle and wont be doing any other meds or completing the IUI. The MD wants to timed intercourse with US following.  Any suggestions/stories would be appreciated.

Re: Femara Success?

  • My twins I'm currently pg with are from a Femara and iui cycle. Iui is necessary for us because my dh has low sperm count. I obviously ovulated 2 eggs at least so it def did it's job.

What's your diagnosis? What kind of MD are u working with?

  • I got pregnant 3 times with femara and iui. The first 2 ended in miscarriages unfortunately but the 3rd one brought me my baby girl. GL!!

  • All of my medicated, timed intercourse cycles were with clomid.  I got pregnant once that way but I miscarried.  I also did two IUIs using Femara, once with just Femara which was unsuccessful and one with Femara and a little bit of Follistim which brought us our 3rd child.

If your husband has good sperm count and motility then hopefully Femara alone will be enough for you.

Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

  • I have endo and PCOS. I'm now diagnosed with unexplained recurrent pregnancy loss and my chart calls me a "habitual aborter" (nice huh). I'm working with Reproductive Endocrinology Associates of Charlotte right now.

My RE has not decided to do the femara and ovidrel with the possibility of progesterone suppositories (which I have done before and didn't help).
