Turnabout is fair play (Father's Day)?

For all those who had crappy mother's days.... are you returning the favor to DH in kind for father's day or giving him the day you wish you had? I can't not get him something nice, but I'm dealing with a lot of bitter feelings as I place the order.

DH just told me not to get him anything. I'm torn he got me flowers and we went out for supper . He is getting to fish in a tournament that weekend. We may not get to go with. So maybe they will be his gift... I won't complain about him going without me!

This was my plan, but then part of me wondered if he'd even "get it" and feel like a jerk even though he should.

Dh did meh for mother's day and that's probably what he'll get from me for father's day. I can't think of anything good and I'm running out of time. I'd rather he hadn't done anything at all because then I wouldn't feel bad if I just did nothing.

For Father's Day this year I made him a really cool card on Shutterfly (with a meaningful personal message in it complementing him on being such a great dad to DD) and ordered him a picture travel mug.

That's exactly what I did! I figure he can put his energy drinks/water/whatever in the travel mug.

I'm bitter but I got him something awesome. I told him that I was very hurt about Mother's Day and he agreed that he was a fucking asshole.

H bought himself a golf club. His birthday is tomorrow, sooo Happy Father's Day AND Birthday.

Oh, and we're at a family reunion and he got drunk and puked in the shower last night, so fuck him.

DH doesn't care about any holidays so he never asks for or expects a gift. He always tells me not to get him anything. He didn't get me a gift for Mother's Day, but he did do nice stuff throughout the day. It wasn't my ideal day, but I know that I have to make the plans if I want it my way. However, I always get him a gift, no matter what.

DH never got me anything for Mother's Day even though I told him a few times leading up to the day that it was important to me to celebrate. I finally texted him that day, knowing he did nothing, to bring home flowers, chocolate, wine, and a movie after work. Fast forward to Father's Day, he has already bought his dad an awesome gift and keeps adding other gifts to include in the box. I finally had enough and told him how shitty it is to go all out buying thoughtful gifts for his dad when he didn't bother to get me anything. His response: What do you mean? I got you flowers and chocolate and wine!! #canyoufeelmyeyesrollingbackinmyhead

That said, I got him an awesome leather wallet with the vikings logo embossed on the front and will be making a Father's Day book for LO to fill in with artwork/cards/letters each year to follow. #suckitDH

Father's Day was two weeks ago here and I was a complete douche. I was sick and forgot. I completely forgot. My husband was so great about it - talking about how it's cool because he has the best oft possible in a healthy family.... Yeah, whatever - so he is getting showered with a surprise Father's Day this weekend.

I got scrapbooking materials at Michael's. I actually got a Project Life kit with little photo slots and journal cards because I don't have time to make a real scrapbook - and the whole collection was 40% off so that helped. I can just add plastic liners to slip artwork into as LO grows.
