Vitamin D Deficeincy

How much are you taking?  My RE said 2000IU per day but it doesn't seem like much.  Also,  I have many reasons not to trust my RE and I'm going back to her only for testing.  I don't want to travel to a different clinic.

My Vitamin D level is: 18.

Have you been taking it for a while?  Did it improve your AMH?

Thank you ladies!

    Thanks for the tag @IFinTN
My AMH went from 0.77 to 1.1 once my Vit D levels went up to normal. I was on the RX strength (50,000 iu weekly) for the recommended 10 week period and that was enough to get me to the minimum level. My endocrinologist said the 2,000 iu my RE suggested is only what is recommended to keep you from being deficient. I am currently taking 4,000 iu daily. I don't know if it's just the Vit D or also the CoQ10, DHEA, and Metformin but my AMH is now 2.7 (almost quadrupled!!)

I'm on 4000iu sub-lingual drops. I started out on 3000iu capsules, and then switched to the drops a few months later. I can't remember what my levels were/are, but I was never on Rx levels and it took about 6 months for them to get within range. My AMH definitely improved as well! (Went from 1.2 to 2.6)

IFinTN Thank for the info and for tagging poohinki!  OMG! What a success story!

@airidh80  I'm hoping to improve it quicker if possible.  Hubby is a teacher and I would love to get something going this summer.  Thank you for sharing!

@poohniki  What a success story on your AMH!  I love it!  I'm taking similar stuff - DHEA, CoQ10 and 3 other natural supplements(HealthForce).  I will definitely ask the RE if she can put me on the 50,000IU weekly.

tptbabe  what's the difference between capsules and sublingual drops?  Do they absorb into your blood stream better or something? Awesome on the improved AMH.

fizzachaudhary  Thank you for sharing!  I need a speedy fix!  I want a baby damn it! :)

I would ask another doctor to get the correct dosage. The reason i say that is my Ob/Gyn said it is fat soluble which means you CAN take too much. Mine was at 26 and she told me to take 1000 daily (in addition to normal prenatal vitamins) but not more because it is fat soluble

I will ask me RE and I am also getting a consult with Shady Grove so I'll ask them also.

I have heard of negative side effects of large doses.  They are pretty scary.  I'm not going to do anything crazy and up the dose by myself.  I have been taking 4000IU per day.

Thank you for chiming in!  And congrats on your BFP!!!

The sublingual drops are supposed to be absorbed better. It's something about the compound of it too though apparently? I got it through my ND and she explained it better than I can!

You can start trying to raise your levels now by spending at least 30 min in the sun a day without sunscreen. Spending time outside will raise your levels faster then taking supplements.

I take 2000IU per day also for about the last year and a half, but it was prescribed by my PCP due to my hypothyroidism. I know it was low, but not sure of the #. She checks it every 6 months when I have my TSH checked. It's within normal range now, but she still has me taking it. I'm not sure if it had any effect on my AMH.

I also had 2 early losses prior to DS. The first 4 were all around 4-5 weeks. The last and worst one (EP) was discovered at 5w6d. I think you're unexplained too. Were you able to do any testing on the 8-9 ones? I wasn't able to do testing on any. All natural, except the EP. Looking at everything now, the dr' s and I aren't sure that a few of them weren't EP's. There was no way to tell at the time. We're not doing any testing, as we don't believe that's the reason. I saw you were looking at SG shared risk. Did you have a consult yet? I go to SG. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. : )

I'm taking 4000 IU daily.  My vitamin D level is just barely within normal range; it started at 12 and now it's 35.  (The low end of normal is 30.)

We're hoping that it'll have an effect on my AMH.  I had it drawn last week and am waiting for the results.

I didn't have a chance to test.  It's the unprofessional staff at the hospital I can blame for not testing.  They just said the insurance won't cover it.  Well,  how about I PAY for it myself???  I totally would.  It would give me a piece of mind and some extra information.

I just sent my paperwork/medical records to Shady Grove.  I'm hoping to consult with Dr.O'Brian asap and if I get accepted I would like to start IVF #1 this summer.

I will keep a mental note about you going there also.  I may have some questions :)

I know people were curious about what my AMH did now that I have normal vitamin D levels.

It went down.  From 0.31 to 0.26.  So no connection here.  :(

I haven't read the other posts, and I am sorry if this has already been said, but in case it hasn't, I was told by a nutritionalist that it is best to take liquid vitamin d drops. She also said it is better to take it with fats otherwise your body won't absorb it properly.
