Saying goodbye to this great group of ladies

I was laid off from my job this week, completely unexpected, no warning signs. Seeing as I'm pregnant and was planning to stay at home when baby 3 arrives, I will not be looking for another job at this time. I gave our 2 weeks notice at daycare and am feeling very sad to be leaving. My kids are so happy there, it breaks my heart to take them away from their friends. I'm sure we will all adjust, but right now I'm still feeling overwhelmed at how I'm going to entertain 2 kids all summer. I've always wanted to be a SAHM, but now that it's actually happening, it's a bittersweet feeling.

I just want to say thank you to all of you for all the advice and support you've provided to me over the past 3yrs. Being a WM has been a great challenge and I couldn't have done it without my friends. I'm sure I'll still be popping in here from time to time, b/c this place has become my home on the bump. Thanks everyone, I will miss you all!

Good luck! I hope you do continue to post. You've been the source of great insight here! I'm sorry the SAHM gig is starting earlier than expected, but it will give you a chance to get used to juggling 2 before you add the third, so maybe it's for the best.

Sorry to hear that - it always sucks to get laid off even if you were planning to leave eventually. I'm sure that you will get used to being a SAHM though.

I'm sorry about the lay off! I hope it turns out to be a blessing in disguise - I know you've been wanting to stay home for awhile, so I hope this works out to be the best for your whole family.

You're going to have a great summer. I'm a teacher so I'm always home with my kids during the summer and I love it. You can pack a lunch and spend hours at a park, a zoo, sprinkle park, do crafts with your older one if the LO still naps, it's great. It's the rainy days or the cold winter days that can drag. Enjoy!

Sometimes it's hard for us to make a decision, even if we want to do it but are unsure and it's better when the decision is made for us. I'm sorry how it happened but you will be blessed to have had both the working role and sahm role with your children. I always wanted to stay home but I'm afraid to leave my good position, that may change with a second baby. I'd love to hear how your transition goes! Wishing you all the best!

Thanks for all the support! I'm feeling much better this week, now that I've had some time to get used to it. I still have 8 more days of kids at DC, so I'm getting myself organized and making a bunch of plans for the summer. I'll definitely be hanging around b/c you ladies rock, and id miss this place too much!

Congrats! Yes, please continue to post! Sorry to hear about the surprise layoff. I SAH the first 3 years w/DS. I only had to entertain one kid. My suggestion would be to do what I did; join two mothers' groups, storytime at the Library, Barnes & Nobles, Moms Morning Out programs, weekday morning Bible study, Target, grocery shopping, bank. Spread your errands out over the course of the week. Yes, enjoy your new role!
