I typically lay there for 15 - 20 minutes. They tell me to take it easy for the rest of the day. But I think I may have to come back to work after my next one and I'm worried. Granted I wont be lifting or doing anything stressful. Just sitting at a desk with some discomfort I figure. Just wanted to poll you ladies and see how your after IUI routine goes.

Re: How long do you rest after an IUI?
Team Purple!!!!

Oct 2013 Uterine polyp removed
Feb 2014 First round Ferama, trigger and IUI...BFN
March 2014 Second round Ferama, trigger and iui
Waiting....
I read a study where women who rested in place for 20 minutes had a measurably (but not hugely) higher chance of pregnancy. But it didn't compare various times of resting, it was 20 min or nothing.
So I will definitely insist on my 20 minutes, but it also makes me worry if longer might be better...even though I know the sperm have gotten there by now, maybe there's something else involved?

*****Siggy Warning*****
I lay there for about 10 minutes, then I recline on the 1 hour car ride back home. I don't go back into work if it's a week day because for some reason, I am sooo sooo crampy and in pain, that I am just not sitting at my desk for the rest of the day. I freaking hate IUI's.
My post IUI instructions say I can resume normal activity that day, though they tell me no running or anything high impact.
