BFP Roll Call Parade (warning!)

In the past few weeks we've had what seems like a ton of BFPs. Congrats again ladies on your exciting and wonderful news !!!!

I was thinking perhaps we could do a special "roll call" for them. This way we can see them all in one big happy, BFP post. If you are one of them and you'd like to participate, simply post a quick message that you are one of our beautiful BFPers and any information you want to share.

It goes without saying that we wish you all the very best and though we'll miss you we are thrilled you will be moving away from TTC and on to one of the pregnancy boards in the near future.

(p.s. I am not one of the recent bfpers, but hope to be very soon)

Hello.Well got my Bfp, 11 dpo . Heard heartbeat at 6 weeks 2 days( measured 6 wks 3 days) I'm now 6 wks 5 days. Next u/s Wednesday June 4 th. @PrivateOne‌ good luck! Everything crossed for you!

Me, me! I just had my first beta yesterday. It was only 49, which worries me, but it is what it is. This was my first IUI and I'm shocked that it worked. I'm really excited but trying not to be too excited just in case things don't progress.

It hasn't been easy to get here and I know it's not for so many people. I've been working on getting healthy since the beginning of 2013 and made so many changes that were hugely difficult for me to make. I can't believe I'm going to admit "out loud" but I weighed 312 last August because of some health issues and not really understanding how to take care of myself. I've lost over 60 lbs so far and got a clean bill of health from my doctor to start TTC. In our society, I feel like people look at me and think I don't deserve to be happy because of my size - and especially that I don't deserve to be pregnant because of my size. Our first RE and the nurses were not exactly nice or supportive so I felt it even more. I felt dejected and hopeless going to the new RE but DH and I want this so so bad and I'm not someone who gives up.

I can't believe the new RE looked past all that and actually got us pregnant in the very first cycle. I know my first beta number means I'm pregnant but it's not a great number. I hope it goes up but I have this nagging voice telling me I don't deserve it. I think another part of it is that I feel guilty that I got pregnant when other people who also want it so badly are still struggling. I really hope and pray that my pregnancy progresses normally and I also hope and pray that everyone else gets their BFP very soon.

I like this idea too!

The BFP posts that I find hard to read, though, are the ones from people who don't really participate on the board (not drive-bys, exactly, but...kind of). And, because they don't participate on the board, I doubt they'll read this and know to post here. Can't hurt, though. (and feel free to tell me to shut it, too.)

Samuelismomma all women ttc deserve it, I understand your sentiment and I am thrilled for each and every one of the women who have gotten +s! I understand it can be difficult for those that have been ttc for a long time and/or those especially that have had losses and no children, but this board is specifically for women that are over 35. That is the only "requirement"

There are boards for those that are having infertility diagnosis, and I don't go post on those bc I don't fit, there is a tttc board for those that meet those board requirements, again I don't fit, God willing me and hopefully most of us will one day be able to post a BFP and because there isn't a board, that i know of please point me there if there is, for women over 40 who have children but still have room in their heart for more where would I post?

Maybe I'm being overly sensitive? When I was here on this board ttc my youngest I felt like posting my + would or could be inspiring to others. I felt that way and still do when someone gets a +, like yes see a 40 yr old CAN have a successful pregnancy.

@kelly72 I didn't say every woman on here didn't deserve it? I already have a ds and have never felt unwelcomed. The women I mentioned above and I have gotten especially close that's why I mentioned them , and @hooligans4 also has children? I understood @PrivateOne‌ started this thread on a positive note so the rest of the board could keep track of bfp's for inspiration and for us with bfp' can give updates....

I can understand your perspective, @IFinTN. I favor letting each participant post an individual BFP because I think each person deserves an individual celebration. BFPs were so rare for a while that I don't think we'll have that many in a week. Also, I unfortunately believe that any drive-by Bumpies would still post individually if they don't know the rules of posting in a group thread.

Samuelismomma you are right you did not specifically state those were the only women that deserve a +, something about the way I read it sparked me up I guess. Of course it is natural that you have gotten to know specific ladies and feel excited for them- please forgive my blunder.

Anyway I'm just happy there are +s sparking up left and right and hope it continues

I am hoping everyone here gets their BFP very soon!

We are at the end of week 5 and have our first u/s next week - am very anxious! Still doesn't seem real (other than constantly having to stop and think - wait, can I eat that?)

I am going to miss you ladies so much and really hope to see you on P>35 and/or PAIF in the VERY near future.

This board went a long time with BFPs that were few and far between. I've been here (off and on--mostly on) for 15ish months and though slow at times, it's exciting to see when others get pregnant and go to another board, but can also be rough if you are in the middle of your own tough times. When I got a positive pregnancy test last week, I was surprised, because it's been so long--so many cycles looking at stark white negative pee sticks--and such an ugly chart. Not to mention the spotting I had. . . I'm had my second beta drawn this morning, and I'm praying that it doubles and that this is our sticky, Rainbow baby.

I hope everyone knows that I didn't post this thread to discourage anyone from posting their own bfp post. I just thought it would be great to have a post where everyone could give a little update since so many bfps were coming up. I just don't want to miss anything and thought a central locale may be a good idea for an update. I also am not expecting us to make this a new thing where folks only post bfps in a check in type thread. Truly I just wanted a little update from all the newly pregnant women and have it be in one spot where we could all ready through the updates.

@stellasoo - Congrats on your weight loss, that's impressive. Don't ever let anyone make you feel that you don't deserve the things you want in life. We all have our crosses to bear and unfortunately weight is an outwardly visible one. This fact makes your soul no less beautiful than anyone else's. And look at you rocking the bfp with the odds stacked against you. I know you are concerned with the initial number, but the only thing that matters now is that whatever the number is it doubles up and keeps going.

I do think it's awesome to be able to celebrate with our fellow Bumpies, especially those who have struggled and/or supported us in our own struggles. I think we're all genuinely happy for these ladies, and yes, they deserve the spotlight.

The Drive-bys do sting, though. Maybe a little more elaboration (minus the rigid rules and public shaming, of course) in the section of our sticky dealing with posting BFPs could help? I think Trouble TTC handles this pretty well (their sticky/intro is here.)

What does everyone think about doing grad check in thread? TTGP has one every week (I think they have it on Tuesdays, but obviously we could do it any day) and it might be nice to see updates from our grads on a regular basis.
As for posting BFP, I do realize that it stings but it sucks the most when the poster isn't active and those people won't know to put it in a special thread. I would like people to be able to post the initial BPF as a separate post and then maybe ultrasound updates, etc could go in the grad thread. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with pps about continuing individual BFP postings because sometimes a BFP could get lost in one main thread. I remember on my BMB they tried that with intros because some people got tired of reading the intros but that led to a lot of hurt feelings from people with EDD at the end of the month feeling lost in the crowd. I like the idea of doing a mid month or end of month update thread where all the month's BFPs could people say hi, previous posters could update how they are doing, etc.

Lurking in to say that I would love a grad check in. I have been stalking this board daily, to keep up with everyone's journeys, and often want to respond to a post, but know it might be considered bad form (I suck at board etiquette). So a grad check-in would be great. I miss you gals!!!

I'm sorry, @IFinTN. I misunderstood you. Yes, I agree that a group thread could be offered in conjunction with the individual BFPs. It makes a lot of sense. Thanks.

Also @TLC35, I love your idea of a TTC > 35 Grad Check-in. I want to know how our graduates are doing and feeling!

Hi @processofbecoming I have been lurking and following you on N14 and PG>35. When I get down about my loss I remember that you had a loss first and then had a successful pregnancy after that. Hopefully you don't think I'm too creepy.

Hi @tlc35--I don't think that is creepy at all! I've had a loss, then my son, then another loss, and then this pregnancy (which, God willing, will be successful). Actually my doctor told me that I'd likely be more "fertile" after my D&C, and he was right. I got pregnant after my first post D&C cycle (with my son). I was positive that, since it was so close to my miscarriage, it would result in another loss, but it was a textbook pregnancy (well, until the end when I had pre-e and things got crappy, but everything turned out okay). And you are 36, which makes you a spring chicken compared to me (ha ha!). One of my best friends, who was told she had DOR and would likely never have a biological child, got pregnant on her second IUI at the age of 42 and just delivered her son two months ago at 37 weeks. Her son is two months old, and she is already consulting with her fertility doctor about number 2 (my friend does not mess around, apparently!). I was thrilled for her, and continue to root for all of the awesome women on this board!!!

@ProcessofBecoming...I was here for just a very short time when you left us but for some reason I miss seeing your posts. I was happy to see you post on this topic. I think you were the first BFP when I started this board and you still play such a great and supportive part

That being said it is nice to celebrate as we often sadly also go thru some bfp drought on here as well.

I got my bfp on 6dp6dt ( Monday) and I got my first beta back today (10dp6dt) and it was 641! next Beta is Monday. Still a long way to go.

I got my BFP on April 20th. We saw the hb at our first appt on May 20th. I'm 9 weeks and due Dec. 30th. I wasn't on here long before my BFP but I still read this board daily. I have not moved on to the D14 board because I have this underlying fear until the first tri is over. It took us almost 10 months for our DD so we are very blessed that we didn't have to try for long this time. The biggest difference this time is I weighed almost 20 pounds less than last time and I started weekly acupuncture in February. I still come back here looking to see more BFPs!

Ladies I'm so happy to see the ideas above. I agree with the majority, individuals have their own moment in the spotlight to celebrate what we are all praying for. And yes, the roll call BFP sounds nice too. It might be a little depressing if we don't have many BFPs that week though... Crickets? Not sure how to handle. Maybe it could be a grad post slash BFP roll call. Love to hear grad posts. I do have one request, could the BFPs doing it naturally post their charts? If love to see the temps, OPK, BD days and compare to mine!

Update: We had our first u/s today... 6 weeks, 3 days (EDD 1/24). Saw the heartbeat - forgot to get the number but emailed this afternoon - 118bpm.

Next appt 6/24 then we will be released to OB
