Anyone else have a love hate relationship with a pacifier?

My 3 month old daughter used to sleep through the night until recently. Around 4 she starts crying for her pacifier, so I go in and give it to her. However about 15 minutes later she's up again because the pacifier has fallen out of her mouth. This then occurs for the rest of the morning. At what point do I just let her cry? Am I supposed to keep running back in to give her the pacifier? At what age will she be able to get herself back to sleep? Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help. She does have a wubanub. I was thinking that maybe she's hungry, but she doesn't cry it's more of a complaining noise. Also her eyes are closed during this time.
  • Are wubanubs safe for sleeping? I have thought about getting one because we reinsert pacifier once in awhile too but was unsure if they're ok to use at night

  • Check her diaper, see if she is too warm or cold, offer milk.

  • I always give the pacifier, and sometimes she falls back asleep for an hour or sometimes she starts crying again. Once she cries a second time, I give her the pacifier as I'm making her bottle. A couple of times, she has fallen back asleep, but usually she is hungry and wants to be fed. When she does fall back asleep, I'm sitting there with the bottle wondering when to put it in the fridge.

  • Sounds like she's hungry. My LO does that but after i too him off I usually get a 4-5hr stretch of sleep.
  • If Sloan wakes after being asleep I offer food which she always takes- otherwise if she's tired she will just let the paci fall out and stay/drift to sleep.

  • Try duct taping the pacifier in her mouth.

I couldn't resist adding some snark.
