  • Over six months and still going here. Still EBF.
  • I voted ss bc technically it has only been 5 months since LO is a January baby. Still going but feeling like we may supplement soon for my peace of mind.
  • I'm still pumping (5 months) but I only get enough for 2 bottles a day. The rest is formula.
I'm not sure what category that puts me in

I breastfed for 15 months with my oldest, only 3 months with my second and I'm going to try and make it a year (at least) this time. I feel like my second got jipped. :(
  • Sunday will be 6 months and going strong :)
  • We're still EBF and will go until he self weans. DS1 weaned at 16 months.

  • Was 3 days an option? :-/ Total mommy fail here. Judge away!
  • I said I'd quit at 3 months but every time I get ready to pack it in I hear horror stories about formula and constipation or I read an article about how much formula costs or something like that. Fuck you universe.

@BootsOrHearts‌ for random FYI. Without coupons or sales, our formula is 200/mo. eeks. Dh was shocked. 8 tubs a month adds up fast.

I know right? No one tells you these things!

I'm hoping to make it to a year with DD. I did it with DS but this time around I'm having supply issues. I can supply as she needs it throughout the day but if I have to pump to leave her nothing comes out (or I only get a stupid once). I have had to give her formula a handful of times.

I never pumped with DS so I don't know if I would have had an issue then too but my boobs are smaller this time around so I think I'm not producing as much.

  • Goal is a year. DS2 is currently 5 months.

DS1 went close to 11 months then self-weaned, but I had stopped pumping between 8-9 months. He only BFed am, pm, and weekends at that point.

I never considered throwing it in with DS1, but DS2 has been quite a bit harder... Mostly more painful.

Wow! I take it little man is on some pretty special stuff? Both our boys did soy, but I don't think it was all that much more expensive. Smelled bad, though.

While it's not $200 higher, I'm continuously amazed at how much our food bill has gone up in the past seven months. It's probably more about the boys growing than me nursing, but I'm definitely consuming more than I was, by a significant amount.

Anybody else noticed this in their budget?
$200 is just for the basic store brand stuff. I think if you get into name brand or specialty the cost goes through the roof. We've talked about it and I don't think we can afford it right now. And we can switch to wcm at a year anyway

@lisa1129‌ dd refused bottles until 4 months and took a sippy cup, now she will use a bottle. Have you tried the sippy?

I give him a sippy every few days and he just bites the spout. I think he's just playing with it because nothing comes out. He also doesn't take pacifiers and hasn't been eating solids very well- it's like, all he wants in his mouth is my nipples.
Same here, had high hopes for solids but very much not interested.

  • @SweetSouthernMomma08‌ - how much is he eating? I'm so confused how you're going through 2 tubs a week?! Jude takes 6 oz every 3 hours...and gets oatmeal in the morning and veggies at night- we use a tub every 2 weeks maybe.

  • Ok, yeah I think our tubs are double that. I was worried I needed to up his formula or doing something wrong!!

Wtf!!!!! What kind do you use??? See if I switched I'd need the nutramigen which is like highway robbery!!
If she would even tolerate Nutramigen because it's still cows milk, just that the protein has been hydrolyzed. Some very sensitive babies with casein intolerance can't even have that one!

I am in the same boat as you. I hope she grows out of the intolerance by the time we're done BF'ing.

Nursing isn't hard for me (the ladies for which this isn't true have all my sorries), so I like it for the closeness and her dependence on me. My husband likes it even more than I do because we don't have to buy formula. :D

Nursing isn't hard for me anymore (it was excruciating for the first 3 months!!!), and I love it for the same reasons. My DH loves it because it's an excuse to get out of MOTN feedings. ETA that's supposed to quote Yezbick. Over editing fail.

  • We supplement and have pretty much since birth but we are officially at the 6 month mark and I'm really proud to have made it this far. I only lasted 3 mos with Dd1. But now that I'm back at work and pumping multiple times a day I'm not sure how long I'll make it. I fucking LOATHE pumping but don't want to give up bfing completely.
