TTC after 35

Just for fun...Baby Names!

To relieve us for a moment the stresses of charting/TTC, let's have fun with baby names! What names would you choose or possibly choose for your future kids?

We want to take two names to the hospital and then see which one best matches the baby. Here are names we really like:

Boy:
Dane Michael
Chase Michael
(Michael is SO's first name)

Girl:
Gwen Anita
Brynn Anita
(Anita is my SO's late mother's first name)

  • @JimBobCooter my middle name is Suzanne. I never knew anyone else with that middle name :)
    Me: 41, DH: 42, married 2009
    BFP #1: 12/05/2012; EDD 08/09/2013; MC 01/2013 (missed, D&C)
    BFP #2: 12/19/2013; EDD 08/25/2014; MC 01/2014 (natural)
  • Girls:
A singleton will be Phoebe.  A second girl would be either Josephine (Josie) or Daphne. Middle name options Mae, Josephine, Elizabeth, and Suzanne.

Boys are more up in the air but our three are:
Joseph (Joe),  John Charles (our dads), and Bodhi.  I'm pretty sure Joe is our first choice.  Middle name Jones, which is both of our middle names.

We're also inclined to make a final decision at the hospital.  We're also considering not find out what we're having ahead of time.
Ooooo..I like Daphne Mae! I also love the name Joe. Both my dad and brother have that name. :)

  • I like Juliette for a girl my husband wants Mary Katherine. Boys names are Grayson and Jackson. This of course could all change once I'm pregnant. My first mc last year for some reason we were stuck on Sophia Madeline and turned out she was a girl. I imagine once I get pregnant I'll prob come up with something else.
    Fucking bump!!!!

We also considered Josephine!  We did take two names to the hospital with us when DD was born and chose the one that "fit" better.  She's Rose (Rosie, most of the time), but she might have been Pearl Josephine (nn Josie--probably).

As it turns out, her looks have changed a lot since her birth.  She could totally be a Pearl now.

  • I love hanging out on the baby name board to daydream
I'm pulling for a second boy to be Callum (mn my last name)

DH and I are on very different pages with girl names but on the table would be Audra, Sybil, Keira, Jane at this moment. Lol

My DS is Declan Cooper and gets love/hate on the bnb (Cooper after my father)

Audra is a very pretty name! I love traditional names. My son's name is Quentin and daughter's name is Lydia which both are 'older' names and very classic. That is why I am leaning more towards Gwen for a girl's name.
  • Love this, I hang out on the Baby Names board every once in a while.

My previous name for a girl: Emma Lucille after my grandmother.  Now I wouldn't use it bc cousins daughter is Emma (we are close), and Emma is so popular right now.  I love old fashioned names though so with my previous pregnancy we had chosen Hannah Leigh.  not sure if I would use that again or not bc if felt like that was for that baby if that makes sense

Currently in love with the name Jesse for a boy.

I love all of your names! Mine are Magnolia Pearl and Robert Bradshaw. I'm in trouble if I were to have twins of the same sex. Very fun to dream.

I love, love, love Brynn and Mae but they're my nieces' names. I also love Bodhi but it is too similar to our last name.

I love hanging out on the bnb, usually I'm too intimidated to post anything though. Silly I know.
I love to dream about names, but I have a really tough time with girls names. His cousins (same last name) have used a lot of my all time favorites.
My other problem is working in a nursing home I associate a lot of the older names that get lots of love on the bnb like Margaret, Claire, Irene and so on with so many patients (good and bad). I don't think I could not picture so and so every time I thought about the name for my future kids.
There's are no girls names that DH and I have agreed on yet, I foresee this as a tough decision right to the end!
For boys so far we like Nolan, Cole, Nathan, Caleb and Pierce.

I work with kids...makes finding names difficult!

For a girl I like Isla Noelle or Isla Pearl (Pronounced eye-la).
My grandmothers name was Shirley.  I really wish I liked that name more....

My hubby also likes Noelle as a first name.  It is my middle name.

    For a boy.....

Liam or William after my father.  Middle names perhaps Vincent.
I also love the name Callan,  one of my favorite students ever!
    I also like Noah....

Gosh,  that really is more fun to consider!!!

  • My choices (not necessarily DH's choices would be:

    Girl:
    Lydia Magdalene
    Helena Claire

    Boy:
    Bede Lawrence
    Miles Ignatius
    image
Elizabeth 5yrs old Jane 3yrs old
    image

  • Girl:
    Lydia Magdalene

Lydia is my daughter's name! She is Lydia Jean. People (and I) love it. :)
  • Girl: Kiera Leigh
Boy: Charleston Liam or Liam Charleston

The girl name was the second choice on my list for my duaghter. So I decided to keep it and use it if/when I have a second daughter.

The boy name is a family name. Charleston was my great grandmother's maiden name and Liam is after my father who's name is William. I love using family names or a variation of.
  • For boys I like John, William, Nicholas, and Davis (my mom's maiden name is Davies, so it's a variation). For girls, I like Evelyn, Madeline, Amelia, Alexandra, or June (though my niece is Jane, so that could be weird).

My taste leans towards classic, with traditional spellings, that won't look dumb at the top of a resume.
Me: 38 DH: 40 TTC#1 (and likely only) since 9/13. Saw RE 5/14, SA good, AMH 2.36, FSH 7.2, estradiol 69.6 indicating good egg reserve. Using OPKs. First Letrozole cycle 6/14, a burst cyst and a BFN. Second Letrozole cycle 7/14, BFN.

Update 11/14 - had laparoscopy 10/28, good news is that my uterus and left tube look good, and they were able to drain the cyst on my left ovary. Bad news is that right tube and ovary have endo and scar tissue, so they're pretty useless.. Best news is that we finally have some answers and a path forward. Taking 7.5 mg letrozole CD 2-6 to put that good left ovary through its paces.

UPDATE 2/2015 - We switched to another fertility clinic, but fortunately we don't have to start all over. We're doing two cycles of Clomid plus IUI, if neither of those take, we'll do IVF in April, potentially with ICSI. (DH's SA has gone downhill, likely due to excessive exercise.) IUI#1 2/25/15....

Ruth will be the middle name either way.

Boys I love the name Gunner but it would be Erick after the husband. Jasper was my all time fav name for a boy……till Twilight.
