WCM vs toddler formula stuff- $5.99 + shipping and handling

So, we switched to wcm from bf and formula. I've been weaning for a week from bfing and it's gone way better than expected. Except, one of my girls is pretty constipated and wakes up at 5ish every morning with a nasty poo that makes her cry. Or if she doesn't poo, she fusses and won't eat and then will poo the bath tub. Yay. Her poos are hard and look miserable.
So, has anyone done that toddler formula before or plan to? All my other kids and her twin have no issues with wcm, so I feel sad for her and lost on what to do. I always thought that stuff was just a marketing ploy, but Eve's never had formula issues so it might be an option? Any thoughts on it?
Thanks everyone!! I really appreciate any input (and so will Evie's belly!). Can't believe a year has gone by....

  • No advice, but we are planning on using the toddler transitions formula. We received enfamil checks and coupons for it, so I have 3 free large cans of it. We plan on transitioning to milk after his 1 year appt.

  • We're transitioning from just BM to WCM with BFing morning/evening - she did have a little constipation, but I cut up a prune, and let her nom on it with breakfast every morning, and it seems to have taken care of things? Also, I try not to give her pouches all the time (holy $$,  batman!), but there's one that's spinach and pear, and it is basically an instant constipation-reliever :)

  • Thanks ladies! Love the idea of maybe adding apple juice or picking a pouch that's a little more "freeing". My girls love pouches and usually don't think about which ones would help. I think I'll switch her to the toddler formula and see if it helps then try wcm in a couple months again.
  • We haven't transitioned, but have been fighting chronic constipation (E goes once every 5-10 days) for
months. We're currently having him evaluated for food sensitivities, but some of the things we've tried are: giving pears every morning, probiotics, we do 2-4 oz of prune or pear juice a day, we add 1 tsp of coconut oil to his food, we try to feed foods that are naturally oily such as avocado.
  • My oldest had horrible constipation, so as soon as she was eating stage 2 foods, I started putting a tablespoon of Fruit Eze in her breakfast every morning (and continued to do so for a couple years; now I just give her a spoonful straight if she gets stopped up). Its natural, very gentle, and kept her regular. It seems expensive, but it lasts a while! You can use it like jam on toast (my husband does this) or mix it in with oatmeal/cereal/smoothies. This stuff seriously saved us bc nothing else worked! Not even prunes. You can get it here if you're interested.

Ohhh, I've never hear of this! Thank you! It's so funny to me because the other kids are super great eaters and never have issues.
