I was ragey on the internet today

But not on here, surprisingly. It was on FB. I have a very small friend's list on FB these days, so I rarely see stupid shit there. But then this showed up:
https://thoughtcatalog.com/charlie-shaw/2014/06/33-men-reveal-the-one-thing-theyd-like-all-women-to-stop-doing-immediately/#ow3Oykh0fTh8jiqt.01

Omg. I hate all of it. The implication that 51% of the human population all does the same things. The assumption that we should spend our time fretting over what "typical female" behaviors men may find irritable. The condescending tone lecturing us to not hate on other women ( thanks, men!). The goddamn photo on the top where that chick looks like an illogical mess about to get smacked by the frustrated man. Raaaaage.

I attempted to rise above and just wrote "oh". But then the poster went on to cite the item numbers he has personally witnessed in the female species.

RAAAAAAAAGE.

I don't know - I don't take it personally. They talked about this on the radio, and hopefully most men don't do these things (junk pics?!), but it's still kind of humorous.

  • I don't like the men version either. I also hate when posters on here say stuff like "all men [whatever]". Newp.

I take it personally because it contributes to the culture that women are objects (silly, annoying objects at that), and should behave in a manner that is pleasing to men.

@TwilightMV‌, I can definitely understand why it would piss someone off. Maybe I should be more enraged by it.

I saw a movie "Miss Representation" that talked about how the media doesn't always do women any favors about making them seem strong and intelligent vs. treating them like objects.

I should probably take a stand more, but I guess I just think, "Well, that's garbage," and then I move on.
  • For every person who thinks " this is garbage" there's someone else reposting it and justifying it with many anecdotes. "Why, I met a woman once! And boy was she craaaaazy!"

  • I was compelled to comment on friend's blog post today supporting #YesAllWomen after a male FB friend tried to make a case about reverse bias and how she was generalizing men and man bashing wasn't going to help the problem. Apparently men are people too. Blah blah fuckety blah. So not the point Mr. Chucklefuck. Gawd.

    Rage on sister.

  • This is hilarious. Pure gold.

As a man, my mind often wanders.

  • The convo was ultimately not very productive, but I did end up getting to use this at one point. image
