Bathtubs?

BTDT moms...which tub did you go with? One with a mesh sling in it, or one without? Or something alltogether different? Appreciate your feedback.

The three I am looking at are....

Eh I'm not big on baby bathtubs... Most moms find that the sink does just fine.

Never used a baby bathtub. We always did a towel in the sink for newborn, then moved up to sitting in the sink when LO got bigger. It was much easier than trying to fit a tub in the sink or leaning over to wash baby in the bathtub.

This is the one we have to, although we did use the mesh sling at first.

I had the ocean wonders bathtub with DS. I liked the sling for when he was a newborn, but found he started to outgrow it by 9/10 months. It was an overall great bathtub. As a baby shower gift we received the summer infant soothing spa & shower. I just want something with a newborn sling in it for the first couple months.

With DS I used one very similar to the ocean wonders one with the mesh insert. I loved the mesh sling when he was an infant. I was able to use the tub for a long time, I think DS was over a year when I stopped. I filled the bath tub up around the plastic one. It was a great way to keep him contained.

We have one similar to the ocean wonders tub, basically different design. We used it until DS would sit up in his own then moved him to the big tub because his feet were sticking over the end of the tub. I liked the sling for when he was tiny and he seemed to feel more secure with the sling.

We got it at the shower, and I'm excited to use it, and it will be easier to store than a lot of the other ones. The sink at our new apartment is really shallow and small and just wouldn't work.

The one we have most resembles the second link. I don't remember the brand but it's a blue tub with a mesh sling. Worked well while DS was still little and we plan to use it for the twins. I liked having a spot to lay the baby to wash him good. I was always paranoid he would slip out of my hands from the soap.

This is the one we have. I think we used the sling once.

I decided not to get a tub and ordered this bath pad instead https://amzn.to/1j4x9Bv We are short on space and I can use this in our kitchen sink and hang it in the shower when not in use. When baby gets older I can use it in the big tub as well.

We had one for DS that we used for a couple of weeks, but I had a consultation with moms on call and they showed me an easy way to just do it in a regular tub (out a hand towel on the bottom of the tub for a soft surface). We either did that, or just got in with DS and bathed him in our lap. Fun bonding time for DS and DH.

I had a little tub for my first which slanted on one end to lean baby on, which was quite good as the slanty bit detached for when baby could sit up but this time round, we live in a house with a huge kitchen sink and a lower-sided bathtub now so just got a hammock-chair-thingy (from toys r us, can't remember it's name) to put in the sink at first and in the bath later when I've healed enough to get up and down.

We're struggling for space so getting a proper tub just wouldn't make sense to us, the chair thing folds up so takes up next to no space and will hopefully stop my OH freaking out about dropping a wet, fidgety baby.

We have the one in your third link and still use it for our 21 month old. We used each stage for quite awhile but dd is little for her age. We love it!

We have something similar to the primo infant bath seat ... And I liked it a lot. It doesn't take up much space which was great in our old house.

We had a tub with a sling for DD1 and DD2 as we received it as a gift, but it's really not necessary. Since we got rid of the tub, we are going to just use this body sponge thing for #3.

We haven't BTDT but went with the puj tub - it folds flat and can store in a small space (narrow space). They were $60+ on amazon, but I got it from the puj web site as part of the newborn bundle and got extra stuff, with a discount for about the same.

I have the third one - the whale We washed dd in a sink like basket for the first few weeks, then I just used the whale bath. I put it in the bath, and I like that she was reclined and comfy. We used it every day until she as 6 months old and starting sitting up, then we just switched to the normal bathtub with me either in there with her or holding her up

We were gifted the sassy bath tub and toy set (brand new). Our bathroom sinks are too small, and the warm water trickles out painfully slow in the kitchen or I would buy the puj. Not sure what to expect still with bathing tiny babies but I'm guessing we will figure it out!

FTM here, but I did do a lot of research on this before deciding. I originally was looking at the same Fisher Price tubs you mentioned, but ended up going with these:

This is the one I plan to use his first 6mos. I like the idea of bathing him in the sink early on.

With DS we had the ocean wonders tub, which we didn't love, then got the inflatable ducky tub which DS LOVED and we still have. Not sure if we'll get a baby tub this time, although our sinks are too small except for the kitchen.

It is a high sided wash pod, which lets baby sit up in a fetal position. DS1 loved it and would have stayed in it all day.
