What do you think?

DD gets 1 bottle 2-3 times per week when I'm at work. Sometimes the last couple of weeks she'll leave an ounce or two (only takes 3.5). Today she only drank an ounce. They tried to give it to her, then waited 15 mins tried again. Then put it in a sippy. Nothing worked. She has even not been nursing as long around that time. She is getting her 1st tooth so that may be pay off the issue. MIL says she's always had a little trouble getting her to take it at that time. I'm hoping she isn't trying to cut out that feeding because she's still waking 1-2 times at night to eat. Any experience or advice?

Re: What do you think?

  • Is it possible to reduce how much she gets at night and see if she'll take more In the day?

Not really, she cries until she gets boob middle of the night and if she starts falling asleep and I remove her she goes back looking for it! I tried giving her a bottle of water night before last, she would give it 2 sucks then spit it out and start whining.

ETA she doesn't take a pacifier.

I mentioned that to MIL so we'll see what happens next week. Thanks
  • Would she take some solids with the bottle at that time? DS would only take 1 bottle at DCP (7 hours) then would want to eat all night. Adding solids (pedi suggestion, he was still getting enough breastmilk) helped. (I also started nursing at drop off) DS still wakes at least 2x each night so... :-/

I nurse at 11 drop her off at 11:30 she has solids at 12 then her next bottle time should be at 3. Then I've told MIL that she can have some puffs after that or sometimes any extra food. I'm just going to tell her to push that bottle back to 3:30 and see how she does. Maybe put it in her sippy if she won't drink it for the bottle.

    Thanks all!
