postponed medical induction

Anyone else have their medical induction postponed? I've had to call 4 times now--yesterday at 2, 5, and 8, and again this morning at 6. (I did go back to sleep, and DH is currently "sleeping in for the last time" for the second day in a row

. I'm calling back at 10 but the nurse said "we'll have a better idea by then..." I haven't been pushy because I know it's due to a lot of women coming in in active labor. And I have well controlled GD so I'm not particularly worried about the (ridiculously active, not large) baby.

I'm okay with waiting a bit... But I'm wondering if anyone out there has been in this situation with an earlier pregnancy: induced for medical reasons, but kept getting the time/date of insisted-upon induction moved back. I'm trying to figure out how long this could really take, and whether to call the perinatal clinic to get a better idea.

There's a recent birth story where her induction kept getting pushed off after she was admitted. For days! I keep thinking about that, wish they had sent her home. I'd be dying!

It's standard with GD to induce early. Hence it being a medical induction, not an elective one. I'm not sure what there is to not get?
