Not all that entertaining but...I really enjoy breastfeeding and nursed my DD til she was 20 months; apparently this is an UO in SO's family, because I was told I 'needed' to wean her when they found out she was still nursing at 12 months. Makes me want to pull out the Ninis even more when they are around!!
Nursing in public is scary. Just. Can't. ( I don't mean it's scary that others do it, just can't make myself yet. I'm being a wimp...maybe more a fffc.)
I think it should be extremely difficult to opt kids out of vaccinations in public schools. You don't want your kids to be vaccinated? Fine, but don't expect to send them to public school and risk infecting everyone else just because you believe some bullshit.
Daytime TV sucks. Soap operas- Blech. Talk shows- Meh. Made for TV movies- Ugh. Reality TV- No. Speaking of, Did you know there's a show called Paternity Court? It's on right before Jerry Springer here (go figure)!

I don't think anyone's gonna argue with you on this one...
I think the gluten free craze is stupid. Unless you have a true gluten allergy, otherwise I just find it really annoying. Most people don't even know what gluten is yet they have to have a gluten free diet, stupid!
We should have not traded 5 terrorists for Berghdal(sp?). And now that more information about him possibly being a deserter is coming out, he needs to be court marshalled.
I think that stance is quickly becoming the popular opinion. And for the record, I agree. As a former service member- if you left your post willingly, you deserted. You should get no special treatment or deals made above and beyond those soldiers who were taken unwillingly.

Agreed. However, I have friends who are celiac, and in some ways they're actually grateful for the gluten-free craze. There's more gluten-free cookies on grocery store shelves now!

I recently saw on the news that the doctor that started the gluten free fad said he actually got it wrong. Some people went gluten free because of stomach issues, but it turns out the issue was actually indigestible sugars, not gluten.

I think it's stupid for people to choose to eliminate gluten for non-medical reasons (and I can't for the life of me understand why people would choose the diet willingly) - but I'm also extremely thankful for the abundance of gluten free products that have popped up lately. My H was diagnosed with celiac only about a year ago and already we've seen a huge improvement in the quality and availability of gluten-free products. Makes life a little easier for us!
When I get home from work, I strip down to whatever and go for it! Usually, that means no bra. We live alone, so who cares? DH made a comment the other day about my boobs being out all the time. Sorry if my boobs offend you, but they've been cooped up all day in a contraption that compresses my ribs and stifles the girls.
Strangely this isn't a problem when you want to DTD.

As someone who does have a true allergu, what bothers me the most about the craze is that it puts me at risk because restaurants aren't as careful because they think its a fad, not a health issue.
@jujub22 I thought I would have a problem nursing in public, and at first I was very discreet about it. But I found that over time, I got lazy and DD got more demanding, so it was just too much effort to attempt to cover up. Plus, it was hot under a cover! I don't just whip out Ninis anywhere, but my level of comfort definitely changed over time. Good luck to you!
I don't really see blue as a gender specific color. I wear it all the time and so does DD, nobody thinks we are boys. My H looks freaking great in blue but he doesn't wear it because it proves he has a penis! Sorry a little annoyed at the moment....
Yesterday I had a blue muslin blanket on DD and everyone kept telling me how adorable my little boy was. When I said she's a girl they'd apologize and ask her name... And then they'd look at me funny when I said "Charlie."

I don't know that this is unpopular...
If you don't actually drive a car, you shouldn't be able to park it on the street. We have a neighbor with an extra truck he keeps registered just to be able to rock back and forth to save his spot. I get the concept, and I really can't fault him (parking is tough) but what the hell? Not cool dude.

My sister has Chron's disease with a severe gluten allergy. Poor girl is miserable for days if she eats it. Her doctor actually said that unless you have an allergy you should not go completley gluten free because there are some beneficial nutrients that you're depriving yourself of (this happened to my cousin, who was wrongly diagnosed with a gluten allergy and then her fiber levels were so low it caused a bunch of other issues). She finds it annoying too! However now that it's become so popular she does have more yummy snacks to choose from because everyone is jumping on the wagon lol.

@StrawberryDreams219 Blue is totally my favorite color. I even had DD wearing blue in the pictures I took for her birth announcement!
I'm more amused than anything by people who choose not to eat gluten because of whatever fad diet they think it is. I mean, there's absolutely nothing beneficial about avoiding it for non-health reasons, but it seems there are some people who just need a bandwagon to jump on. But at least their stupidity creates a market for more gluten-free options for the people who really do need to avoid it. I guess that's a win/win.

My mom is a fad gluten free person and she drives me nuts. She also pushes other people, including DH and I to go gluten free. Oh wait I should clarify, she is gluten free sometimes, like when it is convenient, which makes it even more stupid.
The fact that the fad has now made it easier for people with real gluten issues is great and something I never really thought of. So thanks mom for helping people with real problems, however I don't have gluten issues so back off!
I am all for nursing in public but for the love of God at least be holding your child before you whip your tit out in the middle of a restaurant! There is no need to fully expose your breast and THEN lean over to pick up your child, oh and by all means take your sweet ass time picking him up too. I don't feel that a nursing cover is required at all but I don't want to see your fully exposed breast long enough to be able to pull out a notepad and sketch it.

We are team green and our nursery is navy and white with teal accents. The plan says girl so I fully intend to have a girl and will not slather her in pink. In fact, when going through all of DS's old clothes I kept everything unless it said 'dude' 'man' or 'guy' on it. Babies grow so fast and puke/pee/poop on everything so I'm not super fussy about what LO will wear- esp when it is something that will last a matter of weeks. I'm sure once LO is born we will get a tonn of girly clothes and that's fine if other people want to spend their money on that- I just don't feel the need to spend mine.
@Megan_e_rice I hear ya on that. I think what bugs me lately is that with all the "breast feeding selfies" and what not, it's becoming a trendy thing to make a demonstration of the act. I'm all for feeding without a cover wherever you want to, but some people, really just lately, seem to want to start a fight over it with a "go ahead and say something!" Kind of attitude. Just feed your kid. I'm all for normalizing breastfeeding, and I don't mind seeing pictures of it on my newsfeed or anywhere else, but there's no need to take it to a confrontational level right off the bat which it feels like some people try and do.
I love the snark here. Even if the snark is directed at me, I'm ok with it. There is not enough snark here lately. It's all mushy because everyone is having their squishy babies! And yes, I'm totally jealous!!!
June 2014 - June Siggy Challenge - Favorite Hottie
I've been waiting all week for this thread... my UO is that every time I see the thread asking FTMs what they're doing with their last days of "freedom" I want to shake someone. I hardly think of having my daughter as the end of my "freedom" and am looking very much forward to starting this new adventure with her and DH!
My UO that seems to be bugging everyone - I don't believe in gender-specific clothing. I am team green and LO's dresser and closet has the typical gender non-specific clothing, but also plenty of very traditionally 'masculine' colors and traditional 'feminine' colors. I have dresses in there, little slacks, whatever people wanted to send or I thought looked nice. It's an infant, and until it is old enough to chose its own clothes, I'm going to dress it in whatever I like.
Good grief though, when people find out I might put a boy infant in a dress.... No one cares about the onesie with the sewn on tool belt I bought that might go on a girl, but put a dress on a boy and all hell will apparently break loose. Please.
Oh, man. This.
My gender-related UO- I don't think sex or gender are binary. I think both are spectrums.

I can't think of one right now...
