Tomorrow my DS will be 3 weeks old. William Robert "Bill" graced us with his presence a little early. Between his jaundice levels and just trying to get into the swing of motherhood and doing things without DH, since his job takes him away so much, I haven't had the chance to get on here and update.
Now onto the funny thing. When I was in labor, it took my husband to make the decision on whether I would choose epidural or stadol (sp). At 7cm, I received the epidural. I received the epidural around 9:15pm. At around 10:05pm I was barely 8cm dialated, so DH decided that he would go home and take care of the dogs. At 10:40pm I felt a lot of pressure and texted DH to let him know what was going on. I also told him to hurry. The nurse couldn't even check to see if I was at 10 cm because she could see hair. The midwife made it to the room maybe 5 minutes before DH got back. DH got to the room just as DS was crowning. I think it's funny that DH made it just in time and could have possibly missed it after working so hard to get home in time. When I called him to tell him my water had a slow leak and I was staying, he was in another state for work. I'm pretty sure if I would have consistently pushed and not taken a lot of breaks to ensure DH was in the room when DS was delivered. He would have missed it.

Re: So this really funny thing (to me... now) happened 3 weeks ago
Just curious: why did your husband decide your pain meds? You didn't know whether or not you wanted an epidural beforehand?
Are you going to post pics?? We wanna see him!! ETA: the baby, not the husband. Hahaha.
