I said no. I think what she did was absolutely horrible and I do feel both her and her children could use some type of counselling. I do not necessarily feel this counselling should be required, at least by a cps agency. if it could be enforced by some legal standpoint then by all means yes. As a child protection social worker, there is nothing here in our mandate that would allow us to remove children for an incident like this. We would probably end up going in to talk to the parent about how emotionally abusive this was, but unfortunately unless more came to light in the process that is possibly as far as it would go.

Wow, everything she said and did was awful. Especially in front of her kids. I'm not sure it warrants her kids being taken away from her, though. She definitely needs help. I feel bad for her kids.

I'm going to look at the poll question as asking for MY opinion and not what might happen legally. Hard to say if her ex-husband is any better than she is, and I wouldn't wish that any child be turned over to the state because it doesn't seem like that works out well most of the time either.

But, yes, I think the kids should probably go live with someone more stable than their racist, ignorant mother.

ETA: I take back the part where I imply being a stripper is a bad thing. It's not and not a reason to lose your children. Supporting your kids is never a bad thing.

My husband is a mandated reporter and he has said he wouldn't call cps on her- unless he knew she was using drugs, which in this case you don't. She looks like she's lived a hard life but honestly, who is to say she's a using drugs? I know people who don't use drugs who look worn out and haggard like her. Apparently she has come forward and said she is being treated for bipolar disorder. What she says is wrong but I don't think you can rip kids out of their home because they have ignorant parents.

I also want to add that I think the guy videotaping is an a$$ too for sitting there basically egging her on with her kids there. He should have been the bigger person and just left.

I voted "need more info" because we don't know what happened before the camera was pulled out. The only valid reasons for a parent to lose custody would be abuse, neglect, or drug use, not racism. My heart goes out to those children though, because she is clearly a disgusting human being.

I'm so confused. Why doesn't the driver just leave? If he is so offended why is he just sitting there recording it? I don't see anything she did wrong, her kids were fine and she was watching them, she was over 2 ft. away from the car when she was yelling, and when she threatened him she said it was someone else who would hurt him.

What she said was abhorrent, the fact that her kids repeated it sucks, but he's right, racism is alive and well in America. Kids are going to be taught hate until the sun burns out. More could have been gained by the driver just leaving.

@CL8badB I agree. She was threatening to hurt and kill him, to pour coffee on him. She's lucky he didn't get out of the car and hurt her and/or her kids. I don't know that I'd be as calm as he was.

Also, the evidence against her is pretty damning. She is now claiming on radio interviews and Twitter that the guy almost ran down her kids and called her racial slurs, but when you watch the actual video, she tells her ex-husband on the phone that the reason she is angry is that the sound of him starting his car scared her kids. I think she's making up lies now to cover her ass.

It makes me sad to see the kids there, just hanging out, twirling, like this is nothing out of the ordinary. They must see their mom do this all of the time. Not to mention the older kid also using bad language and slurs. Those poor kids are going to have a hard time of it. I honestly don't know what should be done, but I would not be surprised if this woman's behavior was the result of drugs. According to a previous arrest record she's 30 years old. That's some hard living.

If all kids born to racist, ignorant mothers were sent to live somewhere else, we'd need to build public housing for all of them!

As far as the guy not leaving and pulling his camera out, I think he was probably doing it so that he could have clear evidence of her behavior in case she did, in fact, call the police. With racism "alive and well", he may have needed that evidence to protect himself from her accusations.

The video was 4 and a half minutes long! And he said that he had her on camera already for the initial outburst. There was plenty of time to leave and I'm sure the police would have appreciated him doing so in that case rather than having to address a silly dispute now that it's all over the internet.

The more I think about it the more I think it's no different than when a celeb goes ape shit on a paparazzi on tape, no one is taking Alec Baldwin's kids away...

If I remember correctly I believe Alec Baldwin has made some homophobic/racist remarks before and they have caught him on tape.

I don't think it should've been posted on YouTube, but I was just contemplating what might've been his initial reason for pulling out the camera. If that woman had gotten his plate number and called the police telling them a man was scaring his children, they might've tracked him down. That being said, having the children on the video should not be tolerated either. It's a lose-lose situation.
