Missing babysitter

Our babysitter was supposed to come between 630-7 tonight and take over for the il's. They don't know how to do bedtime and can't remember much if I try and explain. Well, she never showed up. When I got home at 930 they were sitting on the couch laughing and I could hear the wave machine coming from G's room.
He normally goes to bed 615-645. FIL got him asleep by 8. I'm pretty impressed actually because he just set him in his crib and for an hour worked on getting him asleep. G would turn on his soother, throw his monkey, pick at FIL face, and whatever else he could to stretch bedtime out. FIL has the patience of a saint apparently.
I have no clue what happened to our babysitter and this is sooo unlike her. I'm pretty worried about her. She is only her weekends normally so I'm hoping she just forgot? I don't know.
TLDR; babysitter didn't show. FIL has patience of a saint with getting G to sleep
