False Labor

I am 5 days overdue. Last night I had contractions 10 minutes apart for 6 hours. I thought for sure that I would have my baby in my arms by now. But no, they slowly went away at about 4am. Now I feel like I was hit by a bus but have no baby to hold. Feeling very discouraged today :( Has anyone else had false labor last that long?? It was just so strange that they were so consistent for so long and then nothing...

    This happened to me a few times. I really feel like you are at the end. My mother told me I would know when I was in labor and honestly I knew! I was in so much pain I couldn't walk or talk and my contractions got close very quickly. I know everyone is different t but I just wanted to share my experience with you. Sounds like you will have your LO soon. Hang in there!

    I had contractions 3-5 minutes apart for 5 hours straight and then when I finally called my mom to come over (had a home birth) they stopped completely I was so angry and they were so intense I thought for sure that was it but luckily my water broke 2 nights later !! Good luck it will happen soon just hang in there mama !!

    I had contractions 20 min apart for 4 hrs (4-8AM) That night they came back and my water broke after a strong one. She was born 3.5 hrs later. I think your LO will come fast :)

    I was up having them irregularly all night one night then the next morning they went away, I was bummed thinking for sure it was coming. Then the following night they started up again all night and I had my baby 42 hours later. Hang in there, he/she will come soon!

    That happened to me more than once. I had completely lost all hope of a VBAC and even had to schedule my repeat c-section. The day before, my body went into labor. All I can say is to rest. Honestly. Lay down, be lazy if you can. I hope labor starts for you soon!

    Poor thing! I hope the real deal is in your very near future! I went to the hospital around midnight when cx were 4-1-1 and extremely painful. I was only dilated to 3cm so they had me walk around an hour. No progress so they sent me home telling me it was just early or false labor. I cried my eyes out bc if I was in that much pain and having cox at 3min apart how was I supposed to know what 'real' labor was!? They told me I would 'know'. Long story short they sent me home on a sleeping pill which was a huge mistake; it was a horrible night. I ended up back in the hospital by 6am, was only 3-4cm dilated but thankfully they took me in. So the 'false' labor was about 10 hrs then I was in active labor for another 10.

    I feel your pain. I am 41 weeks and have been having false labor for over a week now. With my first I never experienced this, I just went right into labor. Hang in there, let's hope we meet our babies soon!!
