"One Born Every Minute"

Just thought I'd share:
I don't know if this British show is on in the US, but my oh my I love it so much.
It shows birth stories from a busy birth ward in Bristol, England. It's real life (kind of documentary ?) & shows 3 births per episode.
I'm a FTM & I cry in every episode - in a good way. I've made DH watch it with me to help him (& myself) get a better understanding of what happens at the business end of pregnancy.

I'd love to know what you think of it if you've already watched it. Or google "watch One Born Every Minute online" if you've never seen it & let me know what you think. X

  • I love it, theres a us version. Its .not on much which sucks.
  • Loading the player...
  • It's on here (in New Zealand) and I love it. I like to see all the different choices the individuals make re pain relief, birthing techniques etc., and I love reading the name choices at the end of each birth ;).
  • I've been watching it on YouTube too.  I also really like The Midwives which is pretty similar, but even better!

I've been watching the British version on youtube! The first 2 seasons of the American Version are available on Amazon Prime to stream for free, if anyone who has a prime subscription is interested. I like watching it and getting an idea of the different laboring styles, pain options, etc., but DH thinks I am crazy for watching "screaming ladies give birth."

  • I'm addicted! I think someone else posted about it? Maybe it was my other birth board... Either way, I'm up all night watching episodes! It makes me really wish birthing in the US was different! I love that any position is acceptable, and birthing tubs are apart of the hospital. My last hospital I was only allowed to labor in the tub, not actually give birth. This is my third go and I still love watching labor and delivery shows!

  • The closest I know of is probably "Birth Story" on TLC but the only follow one couple/person per episode.  It might be cancelled by now, not really sure.
