Well, I am going to keep this brief, and I will promise to post our full, very Long birth story later... But for now....
After a very long labor and very difficult delivery, my wife and I welcomed our little surprise into this world. As most of you know, we were expecting a little girl. Well, funny story, even though this apparently RARELY happens theses days, we are the proud new moms of a healthy baby boy. We were and are totally in shock. We are still slowly telling family and friends that baby is here and is on fact a boy. I will write much more about this later...
For now, here are some details:
William George (we plan to call him Will) was born on June 4th at 12:57am.
He weighed in at 9 lbs 6 oz and was 21 1/4 inches long.
He is healthy and super sweet.
I have a 2nd degree tear and lots of stitches. I also have been experiencing issues with low blood pressure and fainting since labor, that really peaked after delivery. I have not successfully walked unassisted yet, and I am still tied to an IV.
Anyway, we are shocked and I am still struggling post-delivery, but we love our little guy. I promise to post more later.
Attached are the only two pics we have so far (I've been out if it).

Re: Introducing...
We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.
Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.
Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response
IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
1st ultrasound (3/6 6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.
***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

No one has said this but I'm going to. It's ok to mourn a little bit the "loss" of your baby girl you had planned for since your a/s. I know you had her name chosen, the nursery featured it and SHE was very, very real to you. The fact that she didn't show up today has to be more than shocking, and even, possibly (no disrespect to Will!) disappointing! For as much as you are falling in love with Will, it's separate and different to have feelings of loss or sadness for the little girl you were expecting and it's OK to have them. I hope you understand what I'm saying and I'm not out of line - I just know if Simone popped out with a penis, I'd be sad to never have gotten to meet Simone, even if I was super excited for...Simon.

For the record, 2mamaz is spot on about mourning the loss of Lucie (that was what we planned to name our baby girl). I am taking it better than my wife -- my wife loves our son, but is struggling with not having Lucie. I think with time is will get easier.
So here is a quick update from us:
* Unfortunately Will is in the NICU for the night. He is having trouble regulating his sugars due to his size. I did not have gestational diabetes, and they don't suspect he is diabetic, but life on the outside without the support of the placenta seems to have caused his sugar level to crash a little. He is doing well now and they are giving him formula and IV fluids and his sugars are back up to a reasonable level, the hope is he can join us back in our room by sometime tomorrow. We did try to BF 3 times, but my milk isn't in yet so he needed the formula to supplement because of his low sugar. I plan to try to start pumping tomorrow to see if we can get s little to send down to the NICU and also to stimulate my milk to come in. Needless to say, even though he is responding well, this has been a difficult and emotional day.
* I am still struggling with pain from my tearing as well as my BP/fainting issue. I haven't had a fainting episode since 10am, but my BP was still 88/46 when we last took it (super low for me). Because of this I am still on an IV and they won't let me walk anywhere unaccompanied (nurse or my wife has to go with me to the bathroom, they haven't let me shower yet, and I have to go in a wheelchair to the NICU (which honestly, because of my pain from the tears it is very difficult to sit).
* Neither my wife or I have slept at all since arriving at the hospital at 9am yesterday. Due to a very long, difficult labor, a challenging recovery that has left me in pan and unable to get comfortable, and our son's challenges that have landed him in the NICU... We just have not had time or the ability to sleep. I am now more exhausted than ever before. I just took 2 Tylenol with codeine for pain, and hopefully that will help me get some rest tonight. Although I just want to be in the NICU 24/7....
So those are the updates.
It is probably going to take me a little while to write up our full birth story, but I will work on that when we get home and try to post it soon.
Until then, I leave you with a few new pics...

And I am sorry to hear about the hard labour and other difficulties you are having right now after the labour. Take care of yourself, and hopefully you will get some rest tonight. Sorry it has taken me so long to formulate a response, but camp season is crazy, and I have a lot to say! I also wanted to give myself time to really work through my thoughts so I could frame them correctly, because I had a different response than other people, based on my own life experience!
But before that... CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I can't believe your little baby is here! I remember when you first announced your pregnancy, we were on vacation and I came running down the hall of our beach condo to tell @firstcomeslove2013 the good news! I am beyond excited for you all, and although it sounds like things have not been the smoothest, it sounds like you are taking it one day at a time.
As for your surprise, I can imagine it was very shocking! I was surprised at first.... and then I realized... Hey... that same thing happened to my parents. I mean, I was 25 when I told them I wasn't a girl... although I think they knew long before that. But I am sure they went through many of the same things! Because they had made assumptions, based on my pre-assigned gender, on what I would be and do. This is something that as a society we do... it is a natural process, and something that has become part of our daily lives. I think what was important to me was that my parents knew I was the same person that I always was... and William is the same person he always was! He is the same little nugget that you put all your blood, sweat and tears into... the same little bundle of love that kicked at you for the last half of your pregnancy, and made you sick for the first third! The only thing that changes is the perceptions that you made about who she would become... and for all any of us know, they may have to change back some day!
But I think you are doing amazing! You seemed to take it in stride, and although it sounds like your partner struggled with it a bit (which I think is a normal reaction) she has now
A and I talked about it at length... what would our honest reaction be to a situation like that (not our theoretical political reaction, but our snap-judgment emotional reaction) and we decided we would be most upset about having to change the name of the baby. So... we decided that we would pick names that we would be comfortable giving to a girl our a boy... no matter what
Again, I am just so happy for your family and hope things get easier for you down the road! Keep taking it one step at a time and feel free to vent whenever you need to. We are all here for you!
