Serious Kicks!!!

I just posted yesterday about how I hadn't felt very much movement yet...but holy heck! I was icing my abdomen last night because I was feeling some growing pains and discomfort. I took away the ice and then felt a weird poking pressure that felt like drumming beat. Then it stopped, then it started poking again at weird intervals. I finally realized it was the baby and put my hand over the spot and felt a BIG kick! I called my fiancee over, and warned him he might not be able to feel it...after about twenty seconds, another big kick came and he felt it!

Both of us sat there speechless and smiling like idiots! WOW! I had not idea what to expect, but I thought for sure he wouldn't be able to feel it for another few weeks!

It was amazing, and I wanted to share! :)

  • The baby didn't like or loved that ice pack!
  • I don't think baby liked it at all! But it does make me want to put one on again just to feel the kicks again!!!

  • Yeah! Just wait until you can feel and SEE baby rolling all around. It's unbelievable! Very happy for you.
  • I'm familiar with the smiling like an idiot thing you're talking about ;-) So exciting!

It's the best, isn't it? I've been feeling LO for a few weeks but this past week (22 weeks) the kicks have gotten so strong. :D

  • It's an amazing thing.  I spent my morning watching my cereal bowl bounce around on my belly-shelf from baby's kicks.  So cool!

Isn't it amazing?? I started to finally feel my little girl at 20w1d and now I'm starting to feel them on the outside a little. She seems very sneaky, though. Every time I call my husband over to feel them, she stops. When he walks away, she'll resume a little. HA. He THINKS he felt one last night finally... and I did get a good kick on video that he was amazed by. She's definitely going to be a funny girl.

  • It for sure feels a little weird! In a nice way, of course, but it's hard to imagine being poked and tickled from INSIDE your stomach area. I didn't recognize it at first and was confused at the feeling, and then it just clicked in what was going on!

Fiancee only felt it the one time, I think baby was angry being so cold...I'm hopeful baby keeps on kicking and that it gets easier to feel on the outside again next time

  • So exciting!  Movement is hands down the best part of pregnancy in my opinion (aside from maybe being able to take baby with me everywhere).  Boring meetings at work were always so much better when I could stare down at my big belly when I was pregnant with DS and watch him move around.
