Fell out of bed

Welp, Abigail fell out of my bed and onto the hardwood floor this morning. This comes one day after we discussed how she can no longer stay in bed with us after a MOTN feeding for safety reasons, because she is all over the place when she sleeps now.  But at 4am she woke up and my husband got her and brought her to me. I nursed her and we fell back asleep.  At 5:45 she fell and then started vomiting, which scared the crap out of me.  I am a nurse, so I got a penlight and did a neuro assessment the best I could on her, and I called the on-call pedi who said if she vomits again to take her to the ER. I am at work now and my husband is home with her.  He said she is fine, and my mom (also an RN) is going to go check on her. But still, you guys.  OMG so scary!  My husband was literally watching her sleep when I left home.  I'm sure she is ok, and she is now 100% going to stay in her crib and we are getting rugs in both her room and ours, just in case.  I just wanted to share as a cautionary tale. :((

    Glad she's okay!

    LO getting squirmy while sleeping is why we transitioned LO over to the floor bed two months ago.  I didn't feel comfortable with LO in bed with us when he was no longer just sleeping like a nice little log.

    This way I can go to him for those early morning feeds, and still fall asleep with him.

    Is this something you might consider?  It's definitely saved my sanity!

    So scary! 

    DD used to take her naps on our bed until she fell off a couple weeks ago. She cut her lip on her teeth but was okay otherwise. Poor little thing had a fat lip for a day or so afterward.

    My oldest, 3 years, fell out of our bed two nights ago.  He's been in a "big boy" bed since 20 months and never falls out any more.  Quite a shock at 3 am.

    Peanut has fallen off the couch a couple times recently.  He likes to climb on and goes to sit and falls right over.

    Poor thing! Anna fell out of the bed on my watch back in January - the pediatrician said you're not a "real parent" until your kid falls on his or her head. Kind of a weird way to put it haha, but it made me feel a little better!
