ear infection

My baby girl is 5 months old and just got her first ear infection. We started her on amoxicillin last night. Anyone have any experience with how long it take til they see improvement? Does it also help with the cold sympoms (like cough) or will it just kill the ear pain? So hard to see her liek this!

TTC since 01/13-Uterine Septum Surgery 12/12- During Surgery found Mod-Severe Endo which had left adhesions and attacked a tube. Very blessed to have found all this before TTC!

    Usually the experience relief within 24h. If the symptoms are still present after 72h, you need to bring her back in.

    My LO saw major improvement in about 24 hours. Completely back to normal self in about 48!

    This is good to know. Thanks for asking this OP. Our LO is starting his amoxicillin tomorrow for his ear infection, and I was wondering the same thing. I hope your daughter feels better soon.

    Thanks everyone! She's doing much better but it did take a few days for her. Ofcourse she still has a cough though so that stinks

    Yeah the rest of the cold has to run its course, but my LO has seemed much happier within 48 hours of starting the antibiotics. Just in case you haven't already noticed it, amoxicillin gave my LO diarrhea for a few days too.
