Foods you use to love

So I was all excited to eat this orange Popsicle in my hand but now I am so disappointed. I use to Love all things orange & eat multiples in a sitting but now blah. I can't even stand the taste long enough to finish it. Early on I discovered that pickles & relish made me feel so sick which was horrible to me because I use to live off of that stuff. So sad that I have to cross another food love off my list for now.

Have you found you are hating many foods that you use to love??

  • Hmmm not so much. More the opposite. Loving pierogies and kielbasa whereas I could leave or take them before ... I don't like crackers anymore because of my nausea in first trimester.

  • Chicken :(

    I love (loved?) chicken and now just can't seem to eat it. I make it, but always end up sticking my portion in the fridge for DH to take to work for lunch the next day.

  • I have some of both: craving foods I hated before, and can't stand foods I loved. I used to eat garlic daily, and can't stand it now, and I've never liked mac n' cheese or baked beans but have craved them recently. The hardest part was that during my first trimester, nothing, nothing tasted or sounded good. I ate the same things all the time because it was easier not to think about it. Now that is way better, which is nice!
  • Last pregnancy gave me an aversion to Chipotle food. This time around, I'm actually loving tomatoes and pickles (which I normally don't like or don't prefer).

  • I have always been a meat eater, but now I just don't want any. I pretty much have to force myself to finish any on my plate!

  • I did during first tri but those aversions are mostly gone. Pizza is the only food that I think about and think it's gross. I don't crave it and while I can still eat it, I prefer not to.

  • I used to be a serious red-meat carnivore. Steak is my favorite food, and I like mine cooked medium rare at the most. Since getting my BFP though, I never really want it. It's not like I have an aversion to red meat, I just don't really care if I have it or not. I'd almost prefer to have chicken these days, which is very different for me!

  • Put me on the list of I don't really like meat anymore. Take it or leave it! I used to love steak and chicken. Now the smell and everything. I eat it to get the protein and that's about it. I also loved sweets before. Cake, brownies, what ever. Now more than a couple bites and I'm nauseous.

    @Emerald27 & @MRSclarke08 My problem with chicken right now is the cooking process. It smells so gross to me but I make it all the time for DH to eat & take to work. I never end up eating it. But if we are out somewhere I have no problem ordering & eating it. So weird.

  • I don't like crackers anymore because of my nausea in first trimester. Weird about the orange Popsicle!!!

    Me too with the crackers! I ate a LOT of them for the first three months and can't even think about them now without shuddering.

    And nuts. I ate a lot of almonds and cashews for protein in the beginning because I couldn't stomach anything else...now I cannot force myself to eat them!

  • Peanut butter. I don't really have an aversion to it, but prior to getting pregnant I would eat pb damn near everyday. Now, it just doesn't sound good. I eat it maybe 1x a week on an english muffin or something.

  • Sushi... even just shrimp tempura or the cooked rolls that are ok to eat, I just don't want like I did pre-pregnancy. Same with coffee.  I was NEVER a soda drinker, but now when I see DH with one, that is all I want! I only have a sip, but funny how those things change :)

    My stomach turned just thinking of typing out this list. 
    Hummus, seasoned tortilla chips, spinach, collard greens, raw brocolli, chicken sandwiches, sandwich thins, fish, sauteed mushrooms. And there are many things I'll take one might of and know immediately that I do not want anymore. Ever.

  • I don't like pasta dishes anymore. every time the Olive Garden commercial comes on I cringe. DH keeps wanting me to make lasagna :-<

  • Garlic totally grosses me out right now.  If there is slightly too much I seriously gag.  I also don't want red meat like I used to.  Funny because during the 1st trimester I wanted it more than chicken.  Now it is the other way around.

    Last pregnancy I couldn't stomach shrimp.  The idea of them totally grossed me out, and I loved shrimp before.  This go around I can eat some of it, but still don't love it like I do when I am not preggo.

  • Double cheeseburger from McDonald's. Just the thought makes me feel gross. Boo. Now I'm uninterested in meat all together.

    Same!  Anything with marinara sauce used to be my absolute favorite before I got pregnant, now I don't want it at all.  If I eat it I will end up tasting it in my mouth the rest of the night. 

    Ugh, I don't even like to think about it.  STMs please tell me this goes away after baby gets here!  My hubby wants Italian again!

  • Mine is sweets. I am normally all about canfy, cakes and everything. I am starting to think that my son is converting me the other way. I will still eat them once in a blue moon, but not everyday.
    Which DH pointed out was a good thing since it is not a fight with GD.

    I had a major aversion to raw vegetables during the first trimester, but now I'm back to enjoying pretty much everything as usual

  • Peanut butter. Ii still can't even smell it without gagging and it sucks bc DS eats so much of it!
  • I am the opposite with peanut butter. I eat it by the spoonful at work for a snack! As far as aversions, it depends on the day for me. What I crave one day could make me gag the next . It's hard to meal plan these days!
  • Red meat with both babies, avocados with this one. I usually love them but something about the slimy texture really turns me off. Last time it was oatmeal. I dont usually eat it all the time but with DD I craved it. Like couldve eaten it all day, every day. Only problem was that as soon as I had two bites, I felt like gagging and couldnt finish.

  • Seafood for me. I used to eat it fairly often but now everything sounds terrible. Salmon, shrimp, anything.

    I'm having a hard time with almonds and cashews too. I used to eat a ton of them as snacks during the day, but they have started giving me terrible stomachaches now. I'm still having a hard time finding a good high protein snack to replace them.
