Blocked salivary glands causing sore throat?

So annoyed. I know I have a blocked salivary gland, I'm 100% sure. No biggie except I woke up with a tiny sore throat on the side of the salivary gland that's blocked looks a little bit red. I do not feel like going to the dr. Between the kids and I, I feel like we live at the drs office the past two weeks. Normally I'd chalk up the sore throat as to being from the salivary gland and go about my day BUT oldest DH is just getting over strep throat. So now I'm like should I go just to get it checked out? Or should I just say its fine, give it until tomorrow and see how I feel.

I have no temperature and my sore throat on that side is sore just a little bit.

    I would get it checked. When I had it I had no symptoms except minor throat discomfort ( no white patches ppl talk about) no fever but a lot of fatigue. It felt like the flu after a while.

    I had this once and had the same thing- sore throat on one side. I definitely recommend calling a doctor- I'm not one, but I can also tell you that I ate what seemed like a million sour patch kids and was fine 24 hours later. You could try that tonight and maybe call the doctor tomorrow for a strep test? Can you see any white spots? I get those when it's strep too... Either way, good luck and I hope you feel well again soon!

    I had a canker sore on my gums near my wisdom tooth and I thought I had a terrible infection in my throat because that's where my pain was. Obviously the two things are different, but I just thought it was worth mentioning that oral pain manifests oddly. Call your dr if concerned, and get on the sour patch kids in the mean time.

    And I think I'll start eating sour patch kids as a sign of solidarity... Feel better! :D
