Not in my experience. My daughter I had very short prodromal labor & 4 hour delivery. My son I was experiencing contractions for weeks. His labor was 14 hours.
This is my 4th baby. I've never experienced any prodromal labor in any of my pregnancies and I've had med free/non induced labors that lasted from 4-2 hours long. I agree with PP- every pregnancy is different and you won't know what will happen.
That every pregnancy is different and yours will be as well. You won't know what to expect until it happens.
Yes ma'am -- it's understood that every pregnancy is different, however asking for examples of others' experiences may be for comparison or flat out curiosity. After all, that's what the forum is all about, right?

Not for me. Weeks of contractions and 36+ hours of labor for DD. Multiple PTL scares and contractions minutes apart on several occasions with my twins but no active labor (c/s intervention, I wasn't allowed to go into active labor).

This is the first I have heard of this prodromal labor. Can someone explain? I'm currently experiencing consistent, painful 1-min contractions about 2-3 min apart but am still only dialated 2cm so they sent me home and told me to come back when they are so painful that I can't catch my breath. Wondering from context if this is what I am experiencing.
