Blacking out again and what my Dr. said.

So I've still been having my black out spells even though I have been drinking enough water and eating (Finally thanks to diclegis and zofran). My doctor said that I need to continue to drink as much water as I can and document every time I have it happen again until my appointment next Wednesday. From there she will decide if I should see a neurologist. Anyone ever seen a neurologist for an issue like this? Just wanted to share my info and see if anyone have dealt with this before. Thanks.

  • Thank you! I just hate not knowing. Hopefully she will get it all figured out soon.

  • Will you have your iron tested too? I have had a neuro workup in the past pursuant to collapsing (not pregnancy related) but nothing was unusual. They said it was stress. Not a satisfying answer because I don't know how to prevent it or deal with it. I've had fainting spells since I was a kid and I guess I'm just prone to it for no apparent reason.

  • No help but just wanted to send positive thoughts your way that they figure it out soon!
  • They tested my iron and everything last visit and all they said was that I was dehydrated and my blood pressure was slightly low and to take the medicine and vitamins and get enough water and food. They might test it again?

  • Oh no! That sounds really scary. FX everything is ok!
  • Oh dear! FX the doctors can figure it out and it's nothing serious!
  • that's so scary, i hope they find the reason soon and it's nothing serious!

  • How about your blood sugar level? I'm a hypoglycemic and if I don't keeps sugar high enough I get dizzy and see spots. It's gotten low enough 2x to the point where I fainted. Does this sound like something you might have?
  • Hope it stops soon! My sister was dealing with something similar a while back, can't remember exactly what the cause was if they ever found one, I think it would happen mostly when she was overheated though? Good luck and feel better!
  • Oh goodness!  I hope you get some answers soon!  That sounds really scary.
