annoyed- need to vent

SO annoyed right now. i know i probably sound like a total spoiled brat but i need to vent. my parents have a place in naples florida and dh and i planned a long weekend 'baby moon' at their condo. we planned this trip like 2 months ago and it was the only weekend that worked with our schedule and i made sure my parents and brother weren't going that weekend. i really just wanted a few days alone with dh to chill and relax. today my dad texted me asking if i mind if he comes. i can't say no bc it's their condo obviously but hello you guys knew we planned this trip as our last trip before the baby comes. and my dad will want to golf with dh every day and while thats fun its just not what i wanted and I'm upset. we would've gone to an island or a bigger trip but we can't afford it so we were going to florida since it will be cheap. now i wish we just planned a resort or something. sorry if i sound spoiled and bitchy but I'm really upset. these damn hormones are making me want to rage and i know I'm being ridiculous.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this; that does suck.

Can you maybe talk to your mom about it and get her to convince your dad that it's a bad idea to intrude on your romantic vacation? Maybe she'll get where you're coming from and be able to talk some sense into him without you having to have a painful/difficult conversation. Good luck!

I don't think you sound like a brat. I would be upset too. You should tell your dad the truth though. I'm sure he'll understand.

I'm sorry. I would be disappointed too. I agree that you should talk to him or your mom. I'm sure he would understand. Just tell them you wanted a romantic getaway before baby gets here. Definitely not a lot to ask.

I don't think you sound like a brat. I'm very possessive of my time with DH. He works 12 hours a day, has a side business and we have DD. I would be pissed too. Can you just tell him it's your baby moon and you guys won't be leaving the bedroom. He's welcome to come though

Definitely talk to your mom, I don't think you sound like a brat at all! Maybe just let her know that normally you would love to spend time together, but this time you're really just hoping to get one last romantic getaway just the two of you together.

I get along with my dad better than I get along with anyone in the world. If I had received that text I would want to dump DH and hang out with my dad for the week! lol.

But I realize that is just plain weird. Be honest with your parents... and catch up with them another time.

thanks ladies. i know they'll totally understand its just awkward because it's their condo so i feel bad saying please don't come but i slept on it and will give my mom a call later this morning. i'll let you guys know how it goes.

so i spoke to my mom and she said she figured we'd want to be alone and its no biggie at all. im glad i spoke up, thanks for the advice ladies.
