Naps

Is anyone's LO down to just one nap yet? I think B does better with one long nap during the middle of the day, but I don't want to push him if he still needs two. It just seems like having both morning and afternoon naps throws off his sleep at night.

Just wondering what other LOs are doing.

C will sometimes still take 2 naps but more often than not, he takes one. One nap is definitely easier to plan my day around but by 7 he's a crank butt. I should also mention that his naps are usually an hour and 20 minutes.

A takes one at daycare from 12-2 (she is up around 6:30 and goes down for the night around 7).  On the weekends, she can't always make it to 12, and will sometimes nap from 10:30-11:30 or so.  When that happens, we try to encourage another nap in the afternoon, but we're not always able to.

Except today, when she didn't nap at all and was an exhausted, enraged baby by 6:30.

This is exactly us! L usually fights the second nap really bad and rarely ever do we get her to take it. So we do everything in our power to keep her up till 11:30/12:00 and do one 2-2.5 hour nap. She fights bedtime much less this way.

We are down to one nap which lasts between 1.5-2 hours.

Edit: she goes down for a nap quite early at 10am (she's an early riser; anywhere between 5:30am and 6:30am)

  • N@ will take two or three naps a day. Never less than two.

At home she always takes 2.  She is not sleeping as well at daycare lately though.  She usually still takes 2 naps there but they are shorter than what she does at home and sometimes she refuses the morning nap there and only takes 1.

  • A is down to one nap a day. He'll go down between 11 and 12 and sleep for 1.5-2 hours. Which is great, because it has bumped his bed time from 11pm to 8 and I actually get some time for myself in the evening. Of course, this makes it imperitive that we keep that 8 bed time or else we have monster baby.

  • Most days she's still taking 2.  She's much happier when she takes two.

  • She used to take a 45 min nap in the morning, and a two hour nap in the afternoon. Recently, she has dropped the morning nap, moved the afternoon nap up a little, and sleeps 2-3 hours. She gets a little crankier around lunch, but I prefer this new schedule.
