Definitely what to do with baby once I get home. At least with the former I feel like I have some kind of idea of what to expect (from best case to worst case scenario), but when I'm on my own with a baby? No. Freaking. Idea.

I can tell he's starting to get nervous, which is cute. Thankfully he still has the construction project on our house to channel his energy into. Every new symptom is met with "Do you think that's a sign he's coming??"

Pretty much never. My sister had a baby a year ago and I've held/changed/played with her a lot, but always in the presence of her or my mom. I babysat an infant once when I was like 16, and I think that was the last time I was really alone with one.
What series, shows, movies, books do you plan on catching up on while feeding LO?
Planning on watching the new season of "Orange is the New Black", and maybe watching Breaking Bad, since I've never seen it. I've always wanted to get into the Vampire Diaries too, so maybe that one.
Random: Any vacation plans this summer? What summer activities are you most looking forward to?
We have tickets to a beer fest by my parents place in NY in September. Between now and then we will probably just bring LO to NY to meet my fam sometime in late August once he gets his first shots. I wish we had a nice big pool to lounge next to. At least we have a new deck I can hang out on and pretend
I was more freaked about what to do with baby, but seriously, you just figure it out. It's like instinct is telling you what to do.

All the Netflix. Mainly OITNB, and whatever other show strikes my fancy at the moment.
Random: Any vacation plans this summer? What summer activities are you most looking forward to? I have no plans. I can't wait to get back to working out. I'm antsy for the sweat.... I'll probably stay away from the beach until September. It's just too hot and I don't want to chance a problem for Charlie.

I guess I would say labor and delivery, but it is more just the unknown of it all. I don't know what contractions feel like so I'm most nervous about those.

DH is stressing a little bit, but seems ready at this point. I think he is still in denial though.

FTM- I was left taking care of my nephews when they were both babies, so I guess the last time was about a year ago. The first time I watched my older nephew by myself when he was a baby, he screamed the whole time and I had to call my brother to come home.

I hope to read some during my late night feelings, etc. I need some ideas for good shows and movies to watch though.

No vacation for me. I'm excited for 4th of July. It's DH's favorite holiday and we always have fun, even if we just watch fireworks at home.

I am actually super excited that he gets to be the first one to give him hugs once he is born (due to the c/s) because I have "known" him for 9 months but he hasn't. It makes me really happy to know that he will get to feel the love that I have been feeling. (and I cried typing that, damn hormones!)
For FTMs, When was the last time you were alone with/left in charge of a newborn/infant? I baby sat a lot when I was in high school in college but not since then so 10 plus years.
What series, shows, movies, books do you plan on catching up on while feeding LO? I am also looking forward to OITNB and Harry Potter is my go to always!
Random: Any vacation plans this summer? What summer activities are you most looking forward to? No plans this summer, lots of fun travel for the fall but we are just going to hang out this summer. My family is coming to visit in July and DH's family is coming in August. We will probably go to a baseball game or two later in the summer.

I'm actually really worried about a realization down the line about losing my independence. I think once that reality sinks in I'm going to have a little meltdown. Don't worry! I will love my baby very much and not leave it- but I do expect a meltdown or two along the way..
How is DH/DF/BF/GF/DW or significant other handling the waiting game? (or the baby, if yours is outside) He is SO. EXCITED. Like, pee-his-pants excited. He doesn't like secrets that much and is super impatient so these last weeks have been real tough for him.

What series, shows, movies, books do you plan on catching up on while feeding LO? Orange is the New Black, Silicon Valley, Veep, other HBO shows that I've missed along the way. I'm also going to start the Walking Dead comic books- couldn't get in to the tv show, but I suspect I'll like the comics.
Random: Any vacation plans this summer? What summer activities are you most looking forward to? Nothing major, maybe to Michigan to stay on the lake. Kansas City to eat some BBQ. Visit our parents. A weekend trip to see college friends. Any big trips will have to wait until we can re-build our "fun" fund.

We live up the street from the beach, so I'm looking forward to some new 'family' time there, even if it's just for an hour or two in the day. I'd also like to go up to the White Mountains in NH - it's DH and I's favorite spot this time of year. We might not be able to do camping like we usually do, but we can sneak up for a day trip or get a cabin for a night, right?
I have a good bit of experience with babies with my 3 little brothers and working in the nursery at church, so MOST DEFINITELY the CSection. Like.seriously.freaked.out.

As previously mentioned I have 3 younger brothers, one of which I practically raised (even though he's 11 now) so it's been a while but I remember what to do :P

I have a friend coming down from VA in 11 days so that's really exciting! And hopefully this summer I can go see my parents for the first time since December 2011. (Seriously financial issues SUCK.)

(or the baby, if yours is outside) DH says he's nervous about everything because he doesn't know what to expect, but acts pretty calm about it all. He did have a minor freak out yesterday when his cell stopped working. I didn't worry because I could still text him if I needed him, but he didn't think about that and went to get a new phone right away.

DH is driving me crazy. Every time I call him he answers the phone with "are you in labor" or "are you okay." He is always asking if I'm having contractions or how I'm feeling. It is sweet and I know he is super excited to meet LO and excited about the eight weeks paternity leave he is taking, but I'm not even 39 weeks yet. He is so impatient!

I have friends who have had babies and my sister is a nanny, so I've been alone with an infant before, but not for long and not for awhile!

DH and I plan on finishing season seven of Doctor Who and then whatever strikes our fancy. we own about 500 books and I've maybe ready a little over half of them, so I have a lot of reading I could do over the summer.

We don't have any vacation plans. We talked about going to the beach for a long weekend, but then we decided to try and save to buy the townhouse we are renting. So our plans are to just stay home and relax. I'm really looking forward to having the whole summer off with DH and my sister is off all summer as well, so I will be spending a lot of time with her.

Random: Any vacation plans this summer? What summer activities are you most looking forward to? I'm looking forward to having 12 weeks off! Other than that I don't have anything planned. I'm not sure what to expect with having a newborn in tow and how much of a "vacation" we can have
Dh is antsy and excited for Los arrival esp after last weeks run to l&d. This also makes me worry I won't know when I'm really in labor and won't go to the hospital unless my water breaks.
I'm an STM, I get me time all the time luckily. One or the benefits of living close to family.
I don't think I'll be watching much tv- just trying to enjoy quiet and rest whenever possible with a newborn and toddler.
No summer plans. I'm excited for taking the kids for outdoors activities and bbqs.
I was worried about the c-section because I was not prepared. I was scheduled for one and figured the week before I would ask ally questions at my OB visit, but someone decided to arrive early!

We are flying to Cour D'Alene in August to the family lake house for a week. And then to Seattle after that. My DHs mother and step father are flying in to see the baby for 4th of July weekend, so that should be fun too

I'm usually the kind of person who just wings things and takes them as they come, and I feel like that will make me a little better at handling kiddo than the event itself. Plus my way of dealing with pain is distraction (like watching tv, reading a book, etc) and I don't think anything will be able to distract me from labor

Told me the other day that he is really glad I'm having a friend come to support me as he believes he would "make a crappy birth coach" (said in jest but I know what he means). We both have it set that baby will come probably a week late, so neither of us are particularly worried about waiting.

- DH is working overtime like a mad man, lol. He is more concerned about finances than anything else - even though we will be just fine; he's just being overly prepared

- I don't think I have ever been left totally alone with a baby before. I am the definition of a newb with literally all the things I'm about to be confronted with when LO arrives!

- I left off on season 4 of Parenthood on Netflix so I can't wait to pick that back up! I hope to get familiar with my local library and get some new books to read, too. No specific titles in mind though.

- I'm most looking forward to going to the NJ shore with DH and LO this summer! We will also spend a good amount of time walking the trails nearby parks, and I'll (hopefully) be doing a lot of fishing with my mom.
I think L&D, mostly because I don't know what's going to happen. I know that I can plan for birth one way and have that plan change in a second. So I guess it's the fear of the unknown.

The last time I took care of a newborn she was 4 weeks old, it was about 4 years ago, I was also left in charge of her 5 older brothers too, that was an adventure (they're seriously the best kids).

What is freaking you out more right now, Labor/Delivery or What to do with Baby once you get home? Labor/delivery for sure. I had a very uneventful pregnancy with my daughter, no contractions whatsoever until after induction. I'm like a FTM again! I had some contractions the other night and I was like "whoa, what's this now??" And yeah, freaked out about the thought of my water breaking somewhere random.
How is DH/DF/BF/GF/DW or significant other handling the waiting game? (or the baby, if yours is outside). Just asks about the status of my womb regularly (baby moving, any contractions, etc).

My husband has been pretty awesome about letting me go to dinner with my best friend and things. Hopefully that'll continue once we have two kids!
What series, shows, movies, books do you plan on catching up on while feeding LO? Probably not much - I'll probably read the interwebs and play games on my phone like last time. Though I do have the Outlander series on my kindle and have only read the first book so far. Really it'll depend on how much my daughter lets me, because I have a feeling I'll be playing with her one-handed while her baby brother eats.

Um kind of what to do when we get home. Only because we'll also have a 1 year old, so I'm kind of freaking out about how I'm going to manage 2 kids under 2.

Hmmm DH and I got to go out on a date a couple weekends ago... but as far as time completely for myself, probably not since before DS1 was born. (Which was last February)

Both. I'm terrified that something will happen during labor. I'm terrified that the whole mom thing won't come natural and I'll be horrible.

I watched my niece, now 3, when she was newborn. That's the last time I watched an infant.

We're for sure taking a weekend trip to Seattle. There's nothing I love more than Seattle in the summer, takes me back to my childhood. And I really want to go camping.

For FTMs, When was the last time you were alone with/left in charge of a newborn/infant? I wasn't technically alone, but about 3 years ago my friend had a baby. She had really severe PPD that kind of prevented her from taking care of her baby. I stayed with her for about a month to help out (starting when he was brand new). I don't feel I really know anything from the experience though. I relied a lot on the pediatrician to guide me.
What series, shows, movies, books do you plan on catching up on while feeding LO? Is this possible? I'm really worried about BF and haven't really considered you can do something at the same time?
Random: Any vacation plans this summer? What summer activities are you most looking forward to? No. I didn't want to make any plans until I see how things go. There's a big car show in July I would like to go to if possible. And then my ILs are coming in August for an extended stay, which I'm not looking forward to.
It's usually what to do with the baby because I'm in deep, deep denial that I have to push out a human from (whispers) down there.
The closer it gets to my due date on Saturday the more freaked I get about going into labor. I'm just really nervous that I'm not going to know when I'm in labor and have the baby in my bathroom on the toilet or something.
How is DH handling the waiting game?
He's doing OK although he asks how many BH I'm having about every hour because he thinks he'll be able to figure out when I'm going into full on labor a day in advance. He's really excited.

When my nephews were newbies 5 years ago and 3 years ago. I forget everything.

Excellent point. I'll prob Netflix it up with OITNB, maybe that Kevin Spacey show I can't remember the title of and Long Island Medium.
Random: Any vacation plans this summer? What summer activities are you most looking forward to?
We are going to a wedding in Vermont in August so I'm counting that as a vacation. My MIL is coming with us to take care of the babe so DH and I will have some time out as a couple. We are all staying in one room though so sexy time if off the table which is too bad since vacation sex is the best.
Other than that, staycation at home, hanging at my parents' pool, going for little nature hikes around the area and maybe our town's "beach" which is a sandy area by a big pond. Also, I'm pumped about walking to our town center with LO on Fridays for the weekly farmer's market.
What is freaking you out more right now, Labor/Delivery or What to do with Baby once you get home?
Labor/Delivery for sure. I am convinced that I will end up going into labor while I am at work or while DW is at work (we work opposite shifts), and since we only have one car that means that I will either be 45 minutes from my hospital with no car or 15 minutes from my hospital also with no car and a toddler in tow. I have several people on standby to drive me home/to the hospital if I go into labor.

DW is fairly calm about the whole thing. She does get this really worried look if I get up too fast at night (usually to pee) because with DD my water broke at 2am.

What is this "me time" you speak of? The closest to "me time" I get is when either DD is napping/sleeping or when I am at work.

Orange is the new black, Game of thrones and Switched at birth.

Spending a week at a cabin with my dad and siblings this August and looking forward to spending some time just enjoying the nice weather.
What is freaking you out more right now, Labor/Delivery or What to do with Baby once you get home? Labor isn't really making me that nervous right now. I'm mostly excited to get her out here. But going back to being totally sleep deprived, with work and a 2 year old, is making me nervous.
How is DH/DF/BF/GF/DW or significant other handling the waiting game? (or the baby, if yours is outside) : H is hoping that she stays in for another week and a half until he's done with finals. I had quite a few contractions yesterday, and he was pretty much like 'please keep her in!'.
For FTMs, When was the last time you were alone with/left in charge of a newborn/infant? For STMs when was the last time you got some "me time" from the kiddo(s)?
Me time... hmmmm. Oh, H took her to water the garden on Sunday morning while I drank my tea in peace. That was lovely
What series, shows, movies, books do you plan on catching up on while feeding LO?
I assume I'll be trying to play with my daughter while feeding the new one. In the middle of the night, I don't know. I have a bunch of stuff on Hulu from this season that I'm behind on, so probably I'll put some of that on.
Random: Any vacation plans this summer? What summer activities are you most looking forward to? We are going to visit my sister in Maine for a week and a half in September. Before that we're going to be here, but I am excited about the beach this summer.

Labor and delivery freaked me out the most. I was afraid I wouldn't have the birth I wanted. Then when it happened so unexpectedly I was surprised at how calm, cool, and collected I really was during the whole process.
How is DH/DF/BF/GF/DW or significant other handling the waiting game? (or the baby, if yours is outside)
DH is really good with him but still clueless to how much work is involved in taking care of him. I think he truly believes I am just lounging around all day doing whatever. It's extremely annoying, TBH.

I guess DH's cousin's son, but he was a year old. I have had a lot of experience with babies between babysitting, friends with kids, and younger cousins.

OITNB. Semi disappointed Max came before so I can't just binge watch
Random: Any vacation plans this summer? What summer activities are you most looking forward to?
Yes! Outer banks in September. I also love getting together with family and friends for BBQs and the big 3-0 is in July!
What is freaking you out more right now, Labor/Delivery or What to do with Baby once you get home?
- I'm a little freaked about delivery. Although this is #4, the last one was 15 years ago. And everything about this pregnancy is different. I'm more pregnant now than I've ever been at 37w4d. My other deliveries had traumatic tearing/episiotomies and this LO is the biggest yet. And, if stupid fake out labor would stop, I'd really like to get this show on the road before I birth a toddler.
How is DH/DF/BF/GF/DW or significant other handling the waiting game?
- DH, DD, and DS are all getting super annoying. DH keeps asking about contractions - Um, if I was in active labor DH, you'd know. It sucks that come on out of no where and stop. You think its driving you nuts, I'm crazy-lady-banana sandwich over here. And DS & DD...like you, this LO will pick his birthday. I wish I could encourage him to pick right now...but he's not ready yet....which is good because my kitchen countertops are coming in 2 hours!!!
For STMs when was the last time you got some "me time" from the kiddo(s)?
- Since my current youngest is almost 15, we get a lot of free time from the kiddos. Its more like "when was the last time you got some time WITH the kiddos. Its free time from the DH that is a little sparse. I do manage to get some time away and have scheduled brunches with my gal pals, but I think DH and I spend WAY too much time together!
What series, shows, movies, books do you plan on catching up on while feeding LO?
- Bates Motel, True Blood. I'm sure there is more out there I'm missing. HBO just put a ton of content on Amazon Prime.
Random: Any vacation plans this summer? What summer activities are you most looking forward to?
- My MIL is coming from France for 6 weeks and my niece and MILs friend for 2 weeks. We'll likely try to get some day trips in to local sites. MIL's friend wants to take a weekend to Chicago, so we may go for that as well. Otherwise, we'll do our annual Labor Day Weekend trip with the teenagers in September.
What is freaking you out more right now, Labor/Delivery or What to do with Baby once you get home? The going home part. I am concerned about breast feeding and getting the baby on a schedule eventually. I'm exceptionally nervous for when I go back to work and leaving the baby with my MIL and her not following what I want her to do. It may be a hormonal thing, but I'm worried about my DH and I not having our wishes respected, especially after the baby is born.
How is DH/DF/BF/GF/DW or significant other handling the waiting game? (or the baby, if yours is outside) DH admitted that he's starting to get really nervous and that he's a little scared for it to happen. He hasn't been around children a lot, especially infants.

Luckily I have them saved on my goodreads account. TV wise DH and I want to check out the rest of Veep, How I Met Your Mother , and I think I want to rewatch Vampire Diaries from the beginning
Random: Any vacation plans this summer? What summer activities are you most looking forward to? drinking sangria/mojitos/wine on the back porch with my hubby while the baby sleeps in the pack n play. Going for walks around the neighborhood and the park, watching my brother play baseball. Oh! DH and I are going to a concert in September if that counts?

Me time- well, does going to work count? Or after they go to bed? JK. I got my nails done last weekend and grabbed a coffee, ran errands- that was fabulous.

Random: Any vacation plans this summer? What summer activities are you most looking forward to? We'll be going up north at least a couple of times this summer, have a wedding in Chicago in August. We also just bought a boat (!) so super excited to use that this summer (we live on the Lake Michigan lakeshore so our summers are spent primarily stay-cationing, with friends and family visiting us).
