is this really a sign of labor? tmi

edited June 2014 in 3rd Trimester
Yesterday I woke up wasn't feeling the greatest mostly nauseous and mild no painful cramps. Throughout the day I had some really strong abdominal cramps come on that made me stop in my tracks then have to run to the washroom where I had a loose bowel movement and some more cramps. Then it went away this happened about 4 times.

I also had some milder cramps throughout the day but not as painful some caused shortness of breath. When I looked up it said to call ob right away as I'm only 32 weeks and can be signs of pre term labor. Is this really something that could be a sign and should worry about? I plan to call my ob( not open yet) but just asking for advise to keep calm.

  • The best thing you can do is call your doctor or labor and delivery. None of us can diagnose you. Best of luck and I hope your baby stays in there!!

  • Like PP said there's no way we can tell.  Call your doctor/midwife and see what they advise.  Some women do seem to have diarrhea/vomiting prior to labor, but for some its weeks in advance, others days.  Some people just have stomach viruses or ate some questionable Chinese food.  Call the good doc.  Best of luck.

  • Good luck. You can have loose movements for days or weeks before active labor.

  • Thanks I know u guys can't tell me just thought maybe someone else had gone through maybe some advice to less freak me out before I could talk to my doctor.

I had to go in today for a note from my doctor for maternity leave. I asked him and he did a check he said my cervix is thinning but luckly no dilation right now. He said to watch them and if it becomes more intense or closer together to go to the hospital.
