I will be away from DD for 4 days next week. I plan to pump and after searching the boards and online, I planned to freeze what I pumped to bring home (60-70oz). Well the hotel says they only have a fridge, no freezer for use. Is my only choice to just refrigerate it then freeze it when I get home? Is there anything else I can ask of the hotel? DH is considering buying a travel freezer for $150 just for this trip but then we have to check it and it would be tricky getting home as it will be defrosting during travels.
This is my first time flying and pumping so I have no idea what I'm doing beside what I've read here. It is a VERY nice hotel so I'm shocked at their response. How does a hotel get diamond ratings with one category being amenities and not have freezers in the mini fridge?
Re: XP pumping on a trip, no freezer at hotel, need advice
Alternatively, not sure where you are going but in some states, grocery stores sell dry ice. You could always have a styrofoam box with dry ice delivered to the hotel and use that.
Another option, would your work pay to ship back the milk? I did that one time when traveling. My work reimbursed me to overnight milk. It was combo of limited freezer stash and needing to get the milk home, but they were very accommodating.
