Lack of Sleep is No Bueno

So, with my first child, I didn't start having trouble sleeping until the 6 or 7 month mark. Now, only 9 weeks along, the following is my sleep schedule: In bed by 10, asleep by 10:30-10:45 Awake by 11:45, every night, on the dot Back asleep very quickly after that Awake by 2:35, every night, on the dot I don't fall asleep until 3:45-4am Up at 5:30am Fall asleep around 6am Up at 7:30am for the day It is literally like that every single night and I am so ready to fall over by the end of the week. I have tried everything to help myself sleep right down to the warm milk and lavender arometherapy. I would love to know any suggestions that other mommy's to be have please! Thank you :-)

  • I have no advice, but that is super sucky! You must be so tired!

  • It's insane- you would think being so wiped out would make me pass out every night. And every night I am SO ready to go to sleep and then I'm up an hour after I close my eyes. My doctor OK'd Ambien (and I used it for my first pregnancy as well) but I would rather not depend on it because then when that doesn't work, I'm really screwed.

  • I have been really restless at night too!! Not as bad as your schedule but close.  My heart is racing every night and I just can't sleep, even though I am exhausted! I was thinking mine might be stress-related (we just bought a new house, and are putting ours on the market this week), but my parents and hubby have been giving me tons of "outs" and carrying all the stress for me, so I don't have a good "stress" excuse.

Let me know if it changes for you, and if you try anything else. I'm going to go back to taking a bath (just not too hot like I used to do, sad) and see if that helps relax me more.

  • I'm a huge fan of the Johnson and Johnson adult body wash that's the sleepy time blend. Take a warm shower with that and sip some chamomile tea. Maybe that'll work.
  • Caffeine free, high quality tea and a warm bath. Also, do not have any iPads, phones, screens around and keep your room pitch black..it's all about the lighting.
