Postpartum periods

I was so prepared and read everything about how to care for baby but I discovered that I know nothing about my body after giving birth. When will periods return? I am EBF. I'm guessing there isn't a clear cut answer so do you just wear a pad/panty liner all the time in case it comes? My baby is almost 3 weeks old and the bleeding has pretty much stopped.

    I believe I just had mine last week- which would of been 4 wks PP. I stopped bleeding for 3 days and than it picked up again and was a little heavier and I felt bloated. No cramps but I rarely got those before anyways so, I'm thinking that was my period.

    I breastfed DS1 until he was 20 months old. My period came back when he was 15 months old. I didn't wear liners that entire time. When my period came back I had cramps so I knew to wear a liner.

    Like PPs said, if you're ebf when you get your first pp period back is iffy. I bf DD until she was 14 mos and got my first pp period after 10 months. I never had regular perioda before, so I just did the same as far as preparation for possible bleeding...juat wait for It when it came.

    It can vary so much if you EBF. I breastfed DD1 for 15m. AF came back at 9m PP. it was a couple of weeks after DD started STTN. I started getting cramps so I knew it was coming.

    It would be the same in that it could come back at any point.

    I EP and it returned at 10 weeks PP. I was hoping for a little more of a break. :(

    Mine just started at 6 weeks PP which is quite irritating since I just stopped bleeding almost 2 weeks ago. I was hoping for a longer break.

    I think I just got mine.  at 4 weeks...ugh I was bleeding, it had gotten so light, and then today its super heavy. I'm assuming its period, but so close? How do you know?  I don't have cramps, which I used to get really bad, but I don't think I did too much yesterday to make my general pp bleeding happen.   Ugh. I am not looking forward to periods again! Especially not being able to use a tampon!
