Or maybe I should say tacky or super tacky? Sorry if that biases anyone's responses ;-)

What are you talking about? It's a great way to share gift ideas with friends/family!

Eh. NMS, but I don't judge people that do.

  • Post it publicly- tacky. If you made LO's party a FB event and posted it there, only a little bit tacky IMO

  • I'm a member of a group for boxer dog owners. A member is pregnant and she posted her wish list on the group wall. I nearly choked when I saw it because I think that is ultra tacky. Most of the members have never even met one another. Plus, who said they wanted to buy her a gift? She claims she posted it because a "few people" had inquired about her registry so she just decided to publicize it.

  • I think it's OK when you invite close friends and family to an event, and post it on the event. That's what I did with C's wishlist. Or, just even messaging it to people. But, posting it so everyone can see- tacky.

This. Both sets of grandparents and aunts asked for ideas so I told them all some great outdoor things to buy. Otherwise, no one has asked and I just think if they plan to get anything for him they will do their own thing or ask if they wanted my opinion. Of course it would be great to get exactly what L needs as opposed to silly things that will get no use, butttttt that is the way a gift goes sometimes and I figure we just need to live with it.

  • Tacky. If your family asks for suggestions, then at least email them privately or something.

    Ew.

True story, there's this girl on my FB who is throwing her own bridal shower with her FI. Everyone is invited, and she would love some help throwing it. She posted links to her amazon wish list and said if you couldn't come you could just send her a gift from there. Cash and gift cards are good too, though. On a side note, she's down to 118 lbs, so she's *almost* got her body back. ::barfs::
