As in, all the red wine. Alllll of it.
Today one second grader punched the wall and said, "I fucking hate this school." Yup. A second grader.
Another one slammed his math book in the hall and screamed, "This is bull!!!!!" And ran down the hall. I chased him. Because you know, that's normal.
Do you know what my admin. said? "Don't worry. We're doing PBIS next year."
June 17th is a Tuesday. I will be throwing the biggest bump party in the history of all bump parties. Be thurrrrrrr.
Re: June 17th, paging June 17th, Code Red.
(And I'm school term dumb, what does PBIS mean?)
I may be drinking some right now with animal crackers because that's normal...
PBIS is a whole school behavior management initiative that centers around the idea of positive reinforcement. It focuses on the idea of setting school wide norms for behavior and explicit black and white rubrics for what happens when students do or do not stay within those norms.
Yeahhhhhh, see, here's the thing. Black and white rubrics are basically things you can wipe your ass with when administration doesn't follow what's on them in regards to discipline. We have a handbook right now that blatantly outlines the consequences for major offenses. Which he has blatantly ignored. One parent explicitly asked him what his discipline philosophy is...his response was, TO A PARENT, "I plead the fifth."
But cool, let's do PBIS.
And WTF?! He actually told a parent he wouldn't respond on his discipline philosophy?
