Hi Ladies,
You have been so kind and answered two of my questions already. I wanted to start participating more, so I figured I would post an actual introduction (although I'm not sure what you want to know!).
I cannot get pregnant without medical intervention, so I suppose I have an IF diagnosis. Due to a prolactinoma, I don't even get a period unless I'm on medication. I also now have Hashimoto's, so yay for that! I got pregnant with my daughter after three rounds of Clomid- I was lucky; the doctor wanted to do IUI on the last cycle, but since my insurance didn't cover it she agreed to "one more try" with Clomid while I switched my insurance. That round led to a successful pregnancy, healthy except for hypothyroidism and gestational diabetes (I have a WTF endocrine system I guess).
We are ready for #2, so we started with an RE at the beginning of last month. I did 5 days of 100mg of Clomid, but have not responded well. Tonight I start 150mg for another 5 days. Has anyone done this "stair stepping" before? I am worried it's going to mean I'm going to O quite late in my "cycle" but I'm unsure if this matters since it's a medicated cycle.
Now for my etiquette question- I edited my siggy (I hope it works) so it starts with "siggy warning." Is this sufficient for all new posts/replies, unless I directly mention my daughter? I don't want to remove the ticker because I participate on other boards.
Thanks! I'll see you all in waiting to O...
Re: Formal introduction and Board Etiquette question (previous pg/child mentioned/siggy warning)
Welcome! I can't give any advice on the Clomid situation but wanted to say good luck with #2
And I am thinking you might be ok with the siggy but the other ladies will tell you for sure.
Trying to have baby #1 since April 2013
DH SA March,May 2014 - Low motility and shape issues. On vitamins per RE to help
Me testing April 3, 2014 - FSH and LH good, HSG showed blocked right tube
April 29, 2014 - First RE appt., right tube needs to be removed and possibly left also if
it's bad too. RE suggests going straight to IVF
June 4, 2014 - LAP/HSC and unexpected endo. removed but tubes got to stay!
June 13, 2014 - Post-Op appointment. We decide where to go next since main issue
is MFI influenced. Trying naturally until decision... Repeat SA in September. Aiming for IUI #1 November 2014.
I honestly never even think of siggy's because I'm mobile. Should I put a siggy warning somewhere in mine? I don't see anyone's so I don't know what's the proper etiquette.
The cycle before I stairstepped from 50mg to 100mg on about the same cycle days, but that cycle I didn't ovulate until CD 26.
So, yes, you will probably ovulate later in your cycle than "normal." FWIW, after stairstepping to 150mg, I decided it was time to move onto injects (I only had 1 follicle each time). Since you had success with Clomid before, I'm not sure if that's necessary at this time, but I thought it might be nice to know.
I "stair-stepped" Clomid during one cycle (50mg to 100mg) and an extra five days of Clomid during another (100mg) because my RE wasn't comfortable with me going to 150mg. I did have a long cycle both times, but I wouldn't have ovulated otherwise, so it worked out ok. Just a few extra days of side effects, if you are having any.

PAIF/SAIF Welcome.
Hi! I did the same thing this cycle. I did 50 (which I had done for five previous cycles) and then this time the 50 didn't take so they started me on 100. It ended up delaying the whole cycle about two weeks (10 days I guess, technically) but it worked fine. I was terrified I would ovulate in that time and not know but the Dr said there was very little chance of that and they were right! Went in for my check 5 days post clomid and triggered that night.
Good luck to you!
