Hello again everyone

Now that things are finally moving forward, I thought I would start checking out the board again and posting.

My wife and I had our consult a week and a half ago.  Things are finally moving forward and we are super excited!!!

All that is left to do is my day 3 cycle blood work, which I will be doing tomorrow.  The donor sperm has been ordered from FairFax through ReproMed which will be delivered to our clinic on the 10 June and we should be able to start trying in July.

The only thing that is going to make this a little interesting is that we live 4 1/2 hours from our clinic. Right now we are planning to try unmediated IUI's and see how that works for us.  I have no fertility issues, unless the blood work tomorrow shows otherwise, so I see no reason to use meds. I have been tracking my LH surges for the last 6-8 months and with my cycle being super regular, we have a good idea on when I should be ovulating.

We are really hoping we can time everything perfectly and become pregnant on the first try.  That would be ideal, but I'm not going to stress over it.

Anyway, looking forward to being a more active member on the board and hope you don't all get sick of me, because I'm sure I'll be posting lots.

I guess I should have reintroduced myself! Sorry!

My wife and I have been married 3 years on the 18th of this month. We presently reside inNorthern Alberta in a ‘lovely’ semi-isolated city, both military, and have one fur baby (dog) that we love more than the world, but we are very anxious about expanding our family.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I’m 34 and my wife is 33. I will be carrying as DW doesn’t really want to go through the whole birthing thing. Plus I want to carry, so it all works out. No fighting. :oP

I just got an email from my clinic and found out that they do not do IUI’s on weekends, which is now really stressing me out. I guess we should have asked that at our consult, but it was either going with the clinic in Saskatoon, or wait another year to get into Edmonton. I’m trying to stay positive. But being 4 ½ hours away from our clinic is going to make things interesting.

  • Welcome! Our drive is 1.5 hrs each way. I don't envy yours ;). Is there a lab close by where the blood work could be done? That might help a little bit for you. That's a little crazy that they don't do IUIs on the weekends...your body doesn't hold off just because it is Saturday or Sunday. I hope it all works well for you! Please do join the TTC check ins!

We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

     ****All Welcome!****

We are Mommas to four fur babies - 3 dogs and 1 cat.

  • Welcome!! Is there a local midwife or doctor that could step in should the best insemination date fall on a weekend? We worked with a midwife who came to our house to do the IUI (our OB was also closed evenings/weekends).

Good luck & congrats on starting your TTC journey. :-)
  • Welcome! Wow, you do have some challenges, but I hope everything works out for you.

  • I hope we get a BFP fast too!!

If we have to do ultrasounds we might have to go to a town that's about 2 hours away because the hospital here is way behind and they can't guarantee that they would be able to fit me in when I would need it.

I sometimes really hate living here.
