Baby is sitting on my bladder?! 22 weeks

I have been going to the bathroom throughout the night since the beginning of this pregnancy, but last night I had my husband in hysterics because I literally was having to get up about every 15 minutes between 11pm and 1am.  I was not in pain, and I couldn't feel baby moving much, but I kind of felt like it was a new thing--perhaps he has taken up residence ON my bladder?  Anyone having this issue?  The last few days, I think he's been in a growth spurt--not moving as much, I'm tired, eating a lot, and my belly is definitely having a spurt of its own!  Might be connected?

Any thoughts appreciated1

  • yeah, it totally happens!  Hopefully baby and organs will shift around for you and take some of that pressure off!

  • @theresat858 -- You have WAY overstepped.  You have made a fun-loving, advice-seeking thread into something aggressive.  My husband is the most caring, wonderful. patient, ready-to-parent man you will ever meet.  He was in hysterics because he made a point to GET UP WITH ME and help me through it.  Also, "hysterics," for a culture lesson, in conversation does not mean "was mad"--means "was laughing his ass off."

GET A LIFE AND STOP TRYING TO CAUSE DRAMA ON MY THREAD
  • To anyone else who was or will be kind enough to read this thread--please excuse the rant I had to go on up there.  But I have no tolerance for drama-seeking.
  • Yup. It only gets worse as the baby gets bigger. By the time I hit 30 weeks my son had his feet in my left ribs, his butt in my right ribs and his head on my bladder/cervix/syatic nerve. Pregnancy is uncomfortable. Get used to it.

And in defense of pp....I read it as your husband was pissed you were constantly getting out of bed. And then I re-read it and it sounded like you said he was getting up to help you pee. I was confused. No need to go crazy on her.

I don't think it was an overreaction, I think the person who tried to insult my husband needs to be called out.

This entire board has major problems with posters shifting subjects/topics in an aggressive way that makes the original poster feel bad.  My question was plain and simple regarding the bladder issue.  That a poster took the time to NOT reply to my questions but instead to START a conversation about my husband, who she does not know, is terrible and needs to be addressed.

I am not going to post on this thread or these boards anymore.  It's actually very sad for me, because I really wanted to enjoy this community.  I have ties to the company that runs this site and had high hopes for using it.

Any replies from here will fall on deaf ears, so don't over-tax yourself getting defensive.

Your response to @theresat858‌ looked pretty drama seeking to me... you very easily could have just avoided replying to her comment.

But to answer your (very) stupid question OP, yes it happens to be every single night since I was about 20 weeks pregnant (I'm now 38 weeks). Get used to it.
