Father's Day Gift

My H got me a very thoughtful mom to be Mother's Day gift that I was not expecting. They are silver earrings with the tree of life. I am wanting to give him something thoughtful as a dad to be for Father's Day & I'm stumped. I have ideas for electronics (like the Roku that he wants for the nursery), I've seen cute daddy related onesies, etc but I wanted something specifically for him that had a bit more meaning behind it. Any ideas?

I HATE buying things for DH. It's too hard to find anything.

Generally, he just gets golf balls. I guess I could specialize those from DD.

What about a specific onesie in some genre/theme he likes?

I'm considering getting DH the "My Daddy Rides a Harley" onesie, receiving blanket and beanie as his Father's Day gift from the baby. I already bought baseball tickets for him, SS, DS and my dad to go to a game as a "Male Bonding" thing.

It seems like there was an awesome thread SOMEWHERE about ideas for FD gifts, but I'll be damned if I can remember if it was on our month board, the 2nd tri board on the 35+ board.

I fail at remembering things. Because...I'm old...and pregnancy brain. Yup.

Fi got me chocolate covered strawberries for mothers day...i was considering getting him a watch that he's had his eye on but we're also getting married in a few months and may save that for his wedding gift instead.

...maybe ill get him an edible arraignment....which I'll probably end up eating....

My husband wants a new pocket knife so I am getting him one that will be engraved with his name. Hopefully he can pass it down to our son one day. So its a gift he wants/can use now, but can also one day become something sentimental for the son that we are expecting.

I did a painting by dd with her handprints that said best daddy ever. Then took him to his favorite restaurant. I'm interested in handmade items, cause I feel those are more sentimental to him vs buying him a watch (which I know he would just lose) or something like that. @shaylagirl if you remember post the link!

He's already a Dad, so I will get him a card and treat him extra-special that day. (Favorite meals, send him off to go golfing, whatever he wants). I'm not big into buying gifts for Mother's Day and Father's Day though. Maybe something homemade from the kids.. but no extra gifts.

We will have his girls for Father's Day this year though, so I plan to take them to pick out cards for him and something else he likes, chocolate or something.

I try and outdo myself every year for Father's Day. I've gotten my husband flying lessons, a dive pass to swim with sharks at the Georgia Aquarium, overnight at the zoo and I this year I am taking him to Vegas. He is a great stay at home dad so I do try and go all out to show him how special I think he is.

We are first time parents and hubby surprised me with a raspberry bush for mother's day, which is something I had been wanting to add to my yard.

My plans for him is to fill up the hand-me-down diaper bag we got from my SIL (it is camo and manly) with a "hospital survival kit" for him. So far all I have thought of is beef jerky, some other junk foods he likes, and maybe something to read. I am planning on doing some looking on pinterest and googling it to see what other people have done, but I am pretty excited to give it to him.

I just ordered baby and daddy Chicago Bears shirts ... they aren't exactly matching but pretty close. I figured baby will come close to football season and they can watch in style together :-)

On Mother's Day we made a Costco trip and DH got me some chocolate covered strawberries and himself the entire Star Wars series on blu ray. Happy Mother's Day to me???

No but really, I think I'm getting him a garmin running watch, because I know he wants one (he has borrowed my pink one a few times, hahaha), and possibly the new trublood season that's coming out early June. His birthday is also in June so I need a couple ideas. Yes, I totally go for the non cute/sentimental things for the most part, we are lame like that.

For our first Father's Day I got him some framed pictures of me and DD and a copy of his favorite book from childhood (Go Dog, Go) with a little personalized message I wrote on the inside cover.

I ordered him a shirt that says "This is what a really cool Dad looks like". I figured he could bring it to the birth and get pictures with the baby and then we could do the footprints on the shirt for a memento. Also we haven't announced on Facebook so I figured we could use that picture to announce our child.

I purchased a picture frame that says, "Daddy's Girl". Once we have newborn pictures taken I am going to put one in there and he can display it on his desk at work.

I also ordered the book, "Vader's Little Princess", which I already gave to him and he loved. He is a huge Star Wars fan! (They also have Darth Vader and Son.)

I ordered a onesie that says, "Born to Play Hockey With My Daddy". Perfect for her to wear when they are watching games together or she goes to see him play.

Now if only I could figure out what to get my Dad! (I did get him a mug that says, "Only the Best Dads Get Promoted to Grandpa", but other than that I am stumped!

Its our first baby. But he needs a new wallet so I'll probably do that and then put a gift card to his favorite place to eat in it. And a nice card. For mothers day I got a massage and a beautiful orchard flower so he deserves something nice too. Maybe I'll put together a daddy survival kit for the hospital for a later time when I feel he just needs a nice pick me up gift. As pregnancy really puts all the attention on the mom (as it should lol) but I like him to feel just as important throughout the process.

I got him a barstool for his manland that has his alma mater on it (Tulsa golden hurricane). I will probably have DD make another card that has her handprints on it again like last year. He has it hanging in his closet!

I think I am going to take him to the driving range. We could probably both use the release that comes with hitting golf balls as hard as you can. Then take him for the spiciest wings in the city.
