PKU test results

Just got a letter that LO will need to be retested done due to a possible metabolic disease. We have an appt tomorrow with Pediatritian but I'm going crazy with worry. Anyone else have this result too? What were your results after retesting?

    We had to be retested. I haven't heard back about the results yet but the pediatrician said they get a ton of false positives because they test so many kids. She said not to worry.

    From what I've heard there are a lot of false positives with the newborn screen. It is just a screen and not a definitive diagnosis. Hoping everything turns out fine!

    Good luck! Its probably just a false positive or error. I hear you have to fill those circles or it messes with the results. :)

    I never got my results ... hmmm. Guess I need to ask!

    We also got retested, two Fridays ago. Ped said called back last Wednesday, which I did, no results yet and she sounded annoyed I called! Um, hello, YOU told me to call that day! But she assured me she would call when the results were in. I hope no news is good news for us both.

    Thank you for the support ladies. Pediatritian and genealogist are fairly confident that he is negative but we went for additional blood work today. Hopefully we get the results quickly, I think I'll drive myself crazy if I have to wait too long.
