I know I'm late to the party with this! LO is still in his RNP. We've tried numerous times to get him into the crib which results in screaming and too much crying for us to handle. He hasn't been swaddled since he was three months and has been rolling over for about a month. We have the snuggabunny RNP and he falls alseep stroking the ears. He also falls alseep holding on to blankets (only during naps while we're watching him and we take the blanket away as soon as he's asleep!). I'd love to have him hold on to something to help soothe him to sleep in the crib like the snuggapuppy ears but I'm nervous about that in a crib.
What worked for you transitioning to the crib??

We would transfer LO to the crib after she was asleep (VERY carefully, in deep sleep) so she would get used to it and at least become familiar with waking up in it.
Have you actually tried the crib yet? Once LO could roll over, her sleep in the crib was MUCH better.
We were nervous about putting ANYTHING in the crib at first, but it was important for her to feel secure (and for all of us to sleep!). So we try to put as little in the crib as possible, and nothing too fluffy or "suffocating." We've put in a crocheted blanket (has holes to breathe), a soft but firm "lovey" (like Sophie or the music seahorse), or a paci at times.
You can play lullaby or white noise while in the RNP so when he hears the familiar noise in the crib, it will be more comforting.
Also not sure about your thoughts on sleep training. GL
We have small lamb one. I let LO sleep with hers, she rubs it on her face etc. When we go to sleep, I check that it's not on top of her face, and move it to the side of the crib if it is. She finds it if she needs it. My LO loves soft blankety things as well and helps to soothe her.
