Trouble TTC

TTC after CP

Has anyone has any experience with ttc after cp? How long did it take for things with your body to return to normal? Did you continue to try right after the loss or take a break for a cycle?

Official diagnosis: Unexplained IF. I am 32. I have low ovarian reserve (low AMH), and poor egg quality. I've also been diagnosed with mild glandular developmental arrest (lining problems, detected with EFT).

We are using open ID donor sperm. IUIs #1-7=BFN. IVF September 2014 antagonist protocol, 8R,5M,3F, 5 day transfer of 1 morula = BFN. IVF#2 planned for January 2015 (antagonist protocol + HGH).

Re: TTC after CP

  • It took me probably about a month for my HCG to drop from around 300 to 0. My RE had talked about possibly benching me for a month afterwards but decided to start me back right away.

    DX: PCOS

I had 2 CP's, and I was back to *my* normal 1 cycle later.  Most DR's want you to take the month after following because the bleeding you have is actually your CP, not AF.  Some DR's do allow you to start trying again right away.  GL, and I'm sorry for your loss.

  • Aside from a hellish period 26 days after my C/P AF all was fairly normal.  We did take a treatment break to collect our thoughts as the CP happened on IUI#4 and we had previously said we wouldn't do more than four IUIs but the CP made us think we were so close that maybe we should try IUI again before moving on to IVF.  Plus if we were moving to IVF I had new insurance starting in April and wanted to get the deductible out of the way.  So we didn't do IUI#5 until April.  This gave me three months from time of CP to grieve, have WTF with RE, go a little nutty with a month or two of drinking before buckling down back to IUI.

All that said, to say it was personal choices both between needing emotional time to somewhat heal and finances/insurance reasons.  If I had been OK emotionally, and had already had insurance we could have gone ahead that next cycle since my beta's went back to zero by 20dpIUI.
