DH and I have been talking names even though still no baby yet. I think we have a few front runners...
Mary Elizabeth
or
Samantha Ellis
Andrew Wade
or
Logan Daniel
Anyone else have their future baby names all picked out?
I wouldn't say "all picked out" cause they can totally change being that who knows when I'll be pregnant but we like Evelyn Diane for a girl and either Andrew Howard or Connor Elliott for a boy. Talking baby names is fun, I'm sure it will be more fun when there's actually a baby in there
I love kicking around names for fun. Husband suggested Asherton as a total joke a few months back so that's our baseline for silly suggestions. I'm planning to post some names from our talks on Twitter and tag everything #betterthanAsherton or #worsethanAsherton.
PS I realize I could be found on Twitter via those tags, I'm cool with Bumpie encounters via Twitter/blog/FB/etc. I know a lot of people choose to be much more private about accounts and online interactions and I totally respect that, it's just not how I've chosen to handle my own info.
Addison is a favorite of ours for a girl. We also like Journey, Charlotte and Everlee. But, they change by the day.
As far as boys go, that's a never ending battle. I like Atticus- he said to get a cat and use the name if I like it so much LOL. He, on the other hand, likes Harrison, which I picture like an 90 year old in a bonnet and booties...hahaha. @cytgirl1 can totally relate on the old man names thing

I think about names a lot in my head, but haven't discussed much with DH because I am trying to rein in my crazy! FWIW, OP, I like the names Samantha (reminds me of my old American Girl doll!) and Logan.
We didn't with DD. If we have another daughter, we have a first name.. Gwendolyn. I want Jackie as the mn but my husband isn't on board. We don't have a boy name and we never loved a boy name last pregnancy either. I want to use Scott as a middle name for a boy but MH doesn't like it. We used his family member's name for my daughter's middle name so I don't give a lot of shits about his opinion on baby 2's middle name.
Also, what the hell is up with the unnecessary policing of this board? I've been back two days and the snark and directing people to other boards is a little over the top.
I can't help but giggle about this one since other grads have been coming back to the board this week complaining about how everyone is being too nice now.
I don't think it's illogical to direct people to a more relevant board though.
As for the snark over the past two days, I would say a lot of it is a result of some trolling that seems to be happening on a few of the boards.
Even a few months after I joined, people said the board was too nice. It happens. But the policing is stupid and seems to only be directed at newbies. I'm a snarky bitch, but why can't a person ask about baby names being chosen before getting pregnant on this board? Why direct her elsewhere? It's a totally relevant question proven by the replies from people who have talked baby names despite not being pregnant. Can I not ask the classic "show off your wedding dress/flowers/cake" without being directed to the knot now? I would bet money the Op was redirected only bc she's a newbie.
Is there other redirecting that's bothering you or just this post? Agreed, it was probably unnecessary in this case. If it's just this post bothering you, call it out, fine. But this whole generalizing about the way things are on the whole board? I know people have been giving people advice to check out 3T but I think those were completely appropriate and just giving advice. So unless there's others going on, I think you're over reacting.

Eta and I am absolutely a lover of a snarky/fun board. I'm just getting a stick up the ass vibe right now.
I like Gwendolyn and Jackie, but it seems weird to me to have a "G" name and then a "J" name together. It would be like Gabriel John. I don't know why, it just is odd to me
One of my favorites is Gennaro Gabriel. My husband hates it though so it's not gonna happen.

I totally get that, but she can have a productive conversation about that here so I just didn't get why several people needed to say it (without even adding to the convo) or quote it to agree that the bnb was a better place. Maybe I'm totally off-base, but it didn't seem to be genuinely helpful. It was like that topic wasn't wanted here.
The first two were posted at the same time. I'm sure they didn't know someone else posted it. I think all the other posts were relevant to the topic.
@SnakeFisherBub Claire was my grandmothers name who passed away 3 days after I got engaged. I'm sad it sounds awkward with my married last name but we've agreed on Sonora Claire if we have a girl since it's ok as a middle name. I'm very partial to that name, it's a great classic beautiful choice.

Our silly suggestion for my first pregnancy was Webigail. A la Ducktales. nn Webby. We had many negotiations where that was the only name we could "agree" on.

My mom called me Webigail when I was little thanks to Ducktales haha.
I think it's #betterthanAsherton.

DH's DX- Severe MFI- first SA results: 1.3 mill (1.2 mill motile), 21.6% motility, 2% morphology
Blood test revealed low testosterone so DH was prescribed Clomid. Repeat blood test and SA in November.
@NellyBluth H cousin named his daughter Isla and I had no clue how to pronounce it. They were totally the first people I knew who used that name, now I'm hearing it everywhere. It's pretty though.
ETA I'm worried Evelyn will be played out by the time I (potentially) have a daughter
Our boy's name is Evan Richard Brian (middle names are my dad and FIL's names respectively). We are kind of up in the air with girl's names. One possibility is Amelia Nicole May (Nicole after my H's sister who died at a year old and May is a family name on my side). I also love Rowyn or Vanessa but H isn't thrilled with those options....yet!
I have wanted the name Arabella since I was 9. I have been waiting all my life to name a daughter Arabella. Now all of a sudden, Everything-abella has become popular as all hell and that beyotch on 16 and Pregnant used it and I hear it everywhere. Now it doesn't have the same magic to me that it always used to have. Boooooo..........

I learned the last go round that it's kind of pointless for us to think of names before there's a baby to name. We ended up completely changing our minds several times while I was pregnant with DD. I do love baby names though. My faves right now are Oscar and Ivy.
Diagnosed with multiple infertility factors July 2011
My DH and I have our fave boy and girl name chosen that we use when we talk about our future kids, silly I know! We've been trying for awhile now though so I find I don't like to use the names as much because it makes it harder.
Anyway, I do have a list going with my DH of our top ten faves or so for boy and girl. I'm sure I'll change my mind once I'm (hopefully) pregnant soon too!

DH and I have names that we like, but obviously not committed to anything since I'm not pregnant yet. You should join us over on the Baby Name board. We love talking about names
I've had names picked out for over two years lol. My friend and my H's cousin both used our girl name, so it led to us changing it. We really like 'E' names now, we we have Ezra and Esther picked out for now. My best friend says all current names we like will probably go out the window when we do get pregnant since that's what happened to her and our mutual BFF. Lol it's fun to dream though!
Also, I frequent the baby name board so I hope to see you over there!

We have names as well. If we have a boy, his middle name will be my FIL's first name which is also my dad's middle name, so we got a double whammy with it.
My middle name is the same as DH's mom, sister, and grandma's middle name. Granted it's Marie which is really common, but still.
DH's grandma's name is Evelyn Marie so that's a front runner for a girl, but I also love Amelia (nicknamed Mia). For a boy, I have a laundry list of first name possibilities but the middle name would be William for my dad. DH likes the name Griffin, so I've taken the end decision away from him hahaha. (We do agree on a lot of names, so I am sure when the time comes it will be a fun choice to make!)

My H and I talk about names every so often. H has a boy's name he is somewhat set on but it's still up for negotiation IMO. There is a Jewish tradition to name babies after passed away relatives, so we have a few "suggestions" in that respect. We will likely choose biblical Hebrew names.
The Jewish tradition is that the baby doesn't get named until either the bris (boy) when he is 8 days old, or the baby naming ceremony (girl) which can occur whenever the torah is read in synagogue. So we won't be announcing our name choices until then. Also has the added bonus of probably going to drive my MIL nuts.
My names change but I keep a running list on my phone, because I love names. DH I both live Leah for a girl (my phone wanted to autocorrect that to Aleah, weird). And for boys we love Ridley and Patrick

-Noah David - I know Noah is super popular right now...but I loves it precious...
For girls is way more open. DH likes
-Veronica -Valerie. I mentioned -Ava Grace the other day and that seemed like a possibility.
My niece is named Ava Grace.
I really like the name Simon for a little boy and Isla for a girl, but Isla seems to be getting popular lately. I also like Lola but it would never fly with mh.
Oscar was almost Simon. It's still a favorite for a boy. However, recently I'm liking August or Arlo (except everyone thinks this is crazy).
A girl is more difficult for us. I love too many and my H loves none. Most likely ideas are Cordelia, Iris, Penelope, Zinnia and about a million more.

There are a couple of websites that I like for baby names - Babynames.com and Nameberry.com. You can go through all the names and keep a running list of ones you like.
@sugahcookie01 we love the nn Evie for Evelyn too! It's so cute cause like 2 years ago before we were even thinking about TTC and we'd bring up a name H was like "I like Evelyn. I can call her my little Evie." And he was so matter of fact about it and never talks like that and it was so unlike him and adorable. Here's hoping we get our Evies
There is a woman who brings her daughter to the same music class I bring C who had a baby boy 2 weeks ago and hasn't named him yet because her husband is insisting on the name Thor and she hates it!

We order our dog food from a local company, the owner's name is Thor. I thought it was a bit odd, but now I kind of like it. I think because he is such an awesome guy. I don't think I could name a child, Thor, though.
He was the first person I had met named, Thor. My husband of course loves it.
OP I love the name Samantha, but I may be biased. We have names picked out for number 2, but I'm not sold on the girl name. I'll cross that bridge closer in.
Re: Anyone already have baby names picked out?
ETA: I do like all those name options OP. I prefer Samantha Elizabeth and Logan Wade
We will be starting again from scratch. Hell, we had 9 months to choose last time and still had about 15 names on the list when kiddo was born.
