Baby Talon is here, Think I may have the last May baby.

So it's 3 am and I've decided to try and write out babies birth story. Talon was born by unscheduled c-section on May 31st weighing in at 7lbs 6ozs and 21" long.

Yesterday we came in for a scheduled non-stress test, that unfortunately was anything but non-stressful... His water levels were great and as we got the monitors in place they discovered that even though I couldn't really feel them yet I was having some contractions. The horrible part came in that every time I was contracting though his heart rate would drop after the contraction off and on. So they called my midwife and she decided that I needed to be induced. But things only went down hill from there and my birth plan went completely out the window.
After a cervix check and a membrane sweep I started having a few more contractions that were strong enough that I could actually feel. Baby wasn't taking them very well though and after a few no acceleration and a few decreases it was determined that baby needed to come out but the risk of inducing was high and they thought that if we tried I would be at high risk of needing a c-section.
So instead of putting any more stress on baby we decided that a c-section would be best. Getting the spinal tap was terrifying... but after that I was completely numb and the rest of the procedure was the most serial experience of my entire life. o_o It was amazing hearing him cry for the first time.
But unfortunitly they found that his distress was caused because he had meconium in the fluid and they think he may have inhaled a little. He was having labored breathing and after cleaning him off and letting me say a very quick hello they took him to Nicu :( Right now he is still in the Nicu and they are working on getting his lungs expanded so that he is breathing normally. Thankfully they think he will be just fine and after his lungs get a bit stronger he will be good and healthy.
So that's my LO's birth story sorry if it's a bit wordy. I will be posting pictures of him later on when we can get a few of him with out all the tubes and wires. Thank you for reading my story and all good wishes are appreciated as we hope he makes a full recovery and will be out of Nicu soon.
