Kate's birthday is August 5th. I can't believe she's almost 2! I am just starting to think of gifts, but I was thinking of an elaborate play kitchen. She has a small, basic one now that she likes. What are you planning for gifts for your kids?
Nope, not almost 2. Lalala! I can't hear you!! She's my last baby I'm not admitting she's almost 2 until August.
I'm not sure what we are getting her. Maybe a Gymboree parachute, she loves it in class. I don't think we are having a party. We will probably go somewhere fun as a family.
A kitchen is a great second birthday present. That's what DD1 got. Both girls love playing with it.
but, i wanted to chime in that DS got the little tikes basketball hoop for christmas and he is OBSESSED. he loves it. the ball that comes with it is very lightweight so it's great for indoors. he also loves his little tikes pillow racer (another xmas gift). so i would highly recommend both of those items.
edit: just realized we actually have the fisher price basketball hoop, but it's very similar.
I think a kid-sized table & chairs set. But maybe a play kitchen instead? I dunno. Maybe nothing cause we just bought house and need to not spend money? Lol. Her grandparents could get her those things I named if they'd just stop wasting money on impractical clothes!
I am glad you posted this because I need ideas too! Jeffrey got a play kitchen for Christmas and still plays with it everyday and he also loves his basketball hoop! There are some small toys that he needs like new bath toys and pool toys but I still need a big gift! I have never heard of the Gymboree parachute but will look into that - it sounds fun!
We won't do a gift. She'll get enough stuff from family members, and like @annieluvsjordan, we have too much stuff already! We also will request no gifts at her party, like last year, but some people will still bring gifts.
BFP #1 9/2010 (lost our baby at 21 weeks)
BFP #2 8/2011 (ectopic pregnancy)
BFP #3 10/2011 (chemical pregnancy)
BFP #4 12/2011 (Abigail born 8/15/12)
BFP #5 5/2013 (Griffin born 1/23/14 with heart defects, now repaired!)
@Jeffreysmom24 I just did a quick search and couldn't find them online. They sell them at the Gymboree play class we take. That's where I was going to get it. I bet there are other brands though.
I have absolutely no idea yet! DS got a lot of big stuff for his 1st birthday (wagon) and Christmas (Cozy Coupe, tricycle, tool workbench), I am lacking ideas for his birthday this year.
Picnic table sounds like a good idea though, I might steal that one! Or maybe a kid-size table and chairs set, or an art easel.
I am making her a play teepee and cushions -- kind of like the ones from Land of Nod but with really mod fabric. She loves tents and hiding under things.
We are having a small family party with my family. Then we are going camping, which should be super fun since im hoping to be ku by then. Other than that i think we are going to build Ruth a play grocery/ kitchen.
DH is making DS a new play kitchen. We also hope to have his new playroom finished by his birthday, so that will be part of his "gift". Also planning on having a small party.
Ugh, stuff. So much stuff. We may do one gift and then books and clothes so she has something to rip into. Sandbox, small table and chairs, and this basketball hoop sounds like a good idea. Sure, girls can play sports.
She's not of full-length movie age, but I am way too obsessed with stockpiling Disney classics for her, so I might try to find some online. Not for me at all. Nope, I am not using my child as an excuse to watch The Little Mermaid. NOPE!
We're having a small party in which I'm sure she'll get plenty of gifts from family and friends. We're not doing any big gifts because we're planning on taking her to boston the week after her birthday to visit the aquarium, zoo and museum.
We found a LeapPad2 at Target on Clearance for $70. It is Princess themed and came with a case, a $20 gift card and a necklace for her to wear. It's in my closet until it's the day of the party when I'll do my best to remember to bring it. lol
I'm updating mine. We just decided to do a last minute trip to Disney World!! We will actually be there on her birthday. So that will be her party, present and our 10th anniversary present(which isn't until Oct.). I'm super excited! A little nervous about a late August trip because we always go in the fall with less crowds and less heat.

Wow that sounds awesome! What a nice present and fun time for her bday!
LO is two today and her party was on Sunday. Her big gift is a play yard from her very generous grandfather. She is also getting a kitchen from her grandmother. We bought her a doll stroller for her baby, some clothes and water toys. We are also getting a puppy when we come back from vacation in August.

You'll love disney for her birthday!! We took Caroline last year and it was a blast. We had her birthday dinner at Cinderella's royal table and she was completely spoiled by all of the princess (definitely recommend that)! I wish we could go again this year:) You guys will have so much fun!!

What part of August did you go? We are used to lower fall crowds. I'm hoping we won't be totally overwhelmed. We are telling DD1 next week, she's going flip out. She'll be tall enough to ride everything at Magic Kingdom this time around.
Unfortunately the only princesses DD2 knows is Anna and Elsa and they are running 4 hour wait times. Boo! I'm hoping I can snag fastpass+ to see them. Other wise we will lie to DD1 and say they aren't at the park. She would totally wait for them and nobody has time for that nonsense. Haha

Sorry for my delayed response! We actually went June 28-July 5. It was super crowded and really hot but it was okay. If it weren't for Caroline's birthday we probably would never go to disney that time of year for those reasons. It worked though, we went to the parks right at opening and did the most popular attractions first. It always rained in the afternoon so it gave us a chance to go back to the hotel and nap/relax before going back out. 4 hours for Anna and Elsa is nuts!! Have fun!!
