Ugh, TB won't let me into my inbox to reply. Stupid mobile bump!
Thank you. You are always so sweet.
Unrelated, any out-of-the-box ideas for uses of sauerkraut? We got some for Reuben's, which have been delicious! But we're out of corned beef. What should we do with the rest of it?

Oh man @CLLDLL those sound amazing! And totally beyond our skills and time available right now. Maybe next time.
They are amazing. I just brown hamburger, saute in onion, sauerkraut, a bit of nutmeg, garlic powder and salt and peppper. Then thaw frozen bread dough and roll it out thin. add meat mixture and some cheese. Roll it up and seal. Bake on 375 until the bread is done. ( Around 30 min.)
But I can totally understand not having the time with a NB.
ITK, I really want the Zoku for this summer. Are the accessories worth it? Like the "extra pop freezer holder" or the accessories kit to make cool pops?
I can't imagine we'll get too fancy, but who knows?
nutmeg @clldll ? I put nutmeg in my french toast batter….I can't imagine it in something savory
@Mandmeesh A lot of Mediterranean and middle eastern cuisines use spices that we consider sweet spices in their savory dishes, such as cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg. It is surprisingly good and adds another dimension to the dish. One of my favorite dishes is a chicken and puff pastry layered dish with cinnamon, sooo good!!

I LOVE my zoku. I wouldn't buy accessories or anything until you try it out. I mainly think they're overpriced and you can find way cheaper multipurpose stuff that does the same job. I just use my Pyrex measuring cup to fill, which is sometimes a little messy if the fluid is chunky, like a smoothie, but works great otherwise. I've also used toothpicks to place the fruits in the side, and my candy/chocolate squeeze bottles for filling too. We store premade ones in a container we already had just laying flat, so I think the storage case is a waste of money. We're probably going to get some extra sticks this summer, but I wouldn't even recommend that until you know you need them.
I don't really go crazy with making them look cool though, but I've done fun ones for holidays (red, white, and blue for the Fourth of July, etc).
The only thing I hate about it is that when a Popsicle gets stuck, you have to let the whole thing thaw to get it out. Otherwise I just leave it frozen and ready to go. I mainly get that problem if I overfill the hole by mistake, though. Other than that I love it so much.

oh no! would the runzas without sauerkraut even be worth it, @clldll ?
I have everything except sauerkraut. damn
I don't think they'd be quite the same without saurkraut. You could saute cabbage or maybe shredded zucchini, but you definitely want something with a little crunch to it mixed in with the meat.

Okay. So they weren't runzas. I made some calzones instead. Lol. And apparently mh "wouldn't eat them with sauerkraut anyway" when I told him I was disappointed the recipe called for it. Well poo on him
